We had a pleasant stay in this spacious apartment. The location was particularly good for us: it is a little outside the busy centre of Gérardmer, so the neighbourhood is very quiet, while the town and shops are still easily accessible. Parking right next to the building is extremely convenient. Gérardmer is an excellent base for hiking, as many very different landscapes and walking areas in the Vosges can be reached easily from here. The apartment itself also worked well during the very hot weather we experienced. Although it is on the top floor, the shutters made it possible to keep the apartment surprisingly cool. There are several practical features that we appreciated, including a well-equipped kitchen with an excellent induction cooktop, a large fridge and freezer, a washing machine with a dryer, a large dining table and reliable Wi-Fi. The apartment is on the third floor and there is no elevator. In practice, however, we did not find this a problem: the stairs are easy to climb and have good, sturdy handrails. The first level is also essentially at ground level, so it feels more like climbing two full floors. One point worth clarifying in advance is the bed linen. When I asked about it, I was told that it was available for guests staying more than seven days. As this applied to us, the linen was provided free of charge. Overall, a quiet, spacious and practical apartment in a very convenient location, especially if you are coming to Gérardmer to explore the Vosges and do a lot of hiking.

The furnishings are fairly simple and could be a little more comfortable. The wooden dining chairs have no cushions, the sofa has a rather deep seat, making it difficult to sit comfortably with your back supported by the backrest, even with the many cushions provided, and the mattress of our bed had developed a slight dip. These were all minor points and did not cause us any real problems during our stay, but a few small improvements would make the apartment more comfortable.
