Tok Abah Cottage

Place was clean, there were ants but mostly at the door side, not near the bed. Toilet is big, room is also rather big, comfortable overall, just maybe location is a bit off from town, but again, you'd probably be travelling with a car so should be fine. Place was rather peaceful for most parts of the day.

The view and vibe is so refreshing kampung vibe, love it so much 10/10.

Great value for money. Beautiful location in a carefully tended garden with lots of green around. Friendly host. Spacious room, bathroom is well designed with comfortable hot shower.

No glass on windows, so they cannot be opened without letting flies and heat in, which made the room very dark. Little ants in several places. No Wifi - while owner replies to other reviews that this is obvious when looking at the description, Wifi is so normal nowadays that I missed its absence when booking. But main reason for not rating higher is the noise level - unfortunately not something the owner can do much about. There are several mosques close by, and while we know and like the call to prayer from other countries we visited, we got a full sermon here both evenings from about 7.30 until after 9.00 and more again before 6.00 am. This was not a pleasant murmur, the speakers were so close that you felt there was a man in the room talking loudly the whole time. No reading a book for us, it was really intrusive, although possibly a Muslim guest would feel differently. On top of the mosques, on the first evening our neighbors were a very noisy family of five, kids running around and shouting even after they came home from dinner at 11.00 pm.
