Large house on a working farm, close to Plouescat beaches.

Our host Marlene was great especially as we were late due to car issues arriving at nearly 9 oclock at night. Loved that she was so welcoming even showing us how to work the sofa bed for my elderly father if he couldn't manage the stairs. The welcome box of fruit and vegetable was much appreciated. We really liked the closeness to the beaches of Plouescat (dog friendly) only a few minutes car drive away and sand dunes of Keremma which were ten minutes away.

The fact that the property is on the middle of a fully working farm, complete with artic lorries, vans and forklifts driving around and bonfire near the house where they burnt the farm crates a couple of times. To be honest did not hear much when inside the Gite but did disturb us when we were sitting outside. As the closest beach we found was a six minute drive away, information on the nearest beaches, bins including recycling and local supermarkets would have been appreciated as would an information booklet detailing local services and key information e.g Doctors etc.

Avoid. It is a scam

This is a scam. The nearest beach to the property is 3 kms, not one km as advertised. There are two bathrooms, but one is really old and horrible and not fit for purpose. Most importantly the house is in the middle of a working farm, so you will not be able to walk anywhere but can only use the garden if you do not mind pesticides. It is a nightmare! When we got there it was clear we could not stay, and the owner apologised and said they would reimburse us. Since then they have not answered any messages and we have lost all our money.

I would probably not go there again.

The house was big (5 bedrooms, large kitchen and living room), with private garden and two bathrooms / toilets, so it was OK for 7 people. There were beaches about 15-30 minutes away that accepted dogs,

The house looked like in the pictures, but a lot of important details were not in the photos. Such as dirty walls, falling paper from the ceiling, fallen tiles in the bathrooms... In one of the bathrooms the water from shower, toilet and sink was not going away as fast as it should. We saw after 2-3 days (out of 7 spent there) that the septic tank was full and overflowing behind the house, including from the toilet. Then the house was located at a farm, next to the warehouse, where from morning to night there were trucks loading vegetables, with noise and air pollution (engines running a lot during their stay). The garden was not well kept (compared to the adjacent tourist house) . The house was quite dirty when we arrived so we had to vacuum ourselves. We tried the oven once but we almost started a fire, as it was very dirty, probably never cleaned (and the grease inside was generating lots of smoke). The beach was not 1 km from the property, but rather more than 4 km and more than 15 min by car to reach one that accepted dogs, so we needed a car to get there. There were not many good restaurants in Plouescat. The best one was booked for the whole week, we could never get a table, even a week in advance. We tried two others but they were not so good. We had to cook and we did not get a chance to try a lot of Brittany seafood while there...
