Villa San Regolino whit private pool

We loved our stay at San Regolino. The villa is lovely as is the amazing view. Irene was such a pleasure to correspond with before our stay and just as wonderful in person. The villa was very comfortable, well equipped and clean which made for a relaxing stay. Irene’s father Fabio was also so lovely cleaning the pool daily and being so generous with his time, showing us a little of this amazing property which he is so passionate and proud of. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. If you are staying for some time and intend to cook, do a big shop before you arrive.

The nicest place we’ve ever stayed in. Fantastic views, lovely character building. We felt completely at home in what seemed to us to be an idyllic property and at the edge of a lovely, old, small town.

Terrible cutlery and poor kitchen utensils. Tricky, very steep drive with a poor surface but our little hire car had no problems with the drive and anyway it’s worth a bit of difficulty for such a nice place to stay.

A peaceful deserted place. A great opportunity to relax.

Background: I've been to Tuscany in a number of different locations in the last few years. This calm place is far away from civilization. You need to drive 40-50 minutes to the nearest store or if you want to change a restaurant. Unfortunately this time a nice stay was affected by two unpleasant incidents. During the first night an additional temporary camp-bed broke under my son. He had to sleep on the floor. Surprisingly we were charged for that by the host 100 EUR... Also, one of the sun umbrellas by the pool was torn from the ground during a severe thunderstorm. It is not nice to hear the host suggesting that my sons damaged the umbrella. And a small detail - the host might have also decided to fix the umbrella the next day when we were leaving and no one else was arriving yet (we couldn't access the pool area for the entire day). The bottom line is - such approach can hardly be called guest centric. My advice is if you count on the best tourism experience and you expect higher standards choose Chianti or Val d'Orcia.
