Get away from the city and relax at this beautiful home on the shores of lake Koshkonong. This large home has room for the whole family and a wall of glass windows overlooking the lake. Bring your boat or rent one on the lake and relax and enjoy.
Lake Koshkonong is less than two hours north of Chicago O'hare. This home we like to call Olson Bay Getaway, has it all from granite counter tops and a fully stocked kitchen to new comfy beds and amazing views of the lake. The shoreline is sandy and excellent for swimming with a gradual drop off that is perfect for younger kids to play in.
The home features the following bedroom configuration:
1st Floor 1 Queen Bed with Attached Bath
2nd Floor 1 Queen Bed room with water view and attached bath
2nd Floor 1 Queen Bed with Attached Jack and Jill Bathroom
2nd Floor 1 Bunk Room with Futon and two bunk beds also Attached to Jack and Jill Bathroom
The home has a great open concept so you can cook and eat dinner while taking in the lake views.
A gas grill that is attached to the house gas (Never run out of propane) is also provided on the spacious deck so you can cook and eat outside as well. There is an extra refrigerator to help cool all the yummy groceries you will bring during your stay.
Lake Koshkonong is a 10,000 acre lake in Southern Wisconsin with lots to do and see. Apart from the great fishing and boating opportunities, there are several restaurants on the lake that you can boat to or drive to as well as winery tours in the area and great shopping. Kosh also boasts some of the best fishing in the Southern part of the state. The lake also attaches to the rock river so you can boat all the way up to the Indianford dam and view the scenery and amazing houses along this stretch of river.
The home also features a beautiful fire pit by the lakefront and Adirondack chairs to sit around the fire as well as a large yard for games and family activities.
The rental includes a private dock to tie your boat up to during your stay.

Overall, the home and location is great. Plenty of space for larger groups inside and out. It's near perfect. If not for the circumstances of our experience, we would rent it again. Unfortunately, there was a progressing fly and wasp issue in the home that was not ideal, especially while traveling with our toddler, which caused us to leave a day early and notify the owner. To my fault, I did not provide management an opportunity to remedy the issue during our short stay before we left, but we couldn't foresee any immediate noninvasive intervention the owner could provide, so we choose to leave hoping the owner would be understanding and hopefully provide a partial refund for the trouble. Im an outdoors person who has done a notable amount of backpacking in much more deciduous places than the "Northwoods" of Lake Koshkonong, including 72 miles on the Appalachian trail. Im no stranger to insects, but the owner downplayed the fly and wasp issue saying, "Our cleaning team inspected the home prior to your arrival and did not note any unusual conditions. After your departure we inspected again and did not find evidence of an infestation, other than a couple of flies, which is not uncommon in the Northwoods." I've never asked for a refund from a host prior to this incident. This was the first time and I believe the owner could have been more understanding and reasonable in providing even a small good will gesture amount as a refund.

It was a lovely property for family to gather and enjoy time together on the large deck and the fire pit. Nice large kitchen for the family and place was well equipped.

This is a beautiful location. Very spacious rooms. This should be an exceptional property and possibly was at one time. But it was not clean and could use some TLC. We did some cleani ng ourselves and were able to enjoy time
together
