Apartment Papillon by Interhome

The location of apartment Papillon is good, only a 5 minute flat walk to Sunnegga lifts and in a quite neighborhood. The big terrace overlooks an open field and one gets a nice sunset view with the Matterhorn in full display. The apartment small for four adults with only one bathroom but is well equipped.

Inside the apartment what we missed were comfortable beds and quality bed sheets and pillows. The duvet and pillows were synthetic and of cheap quality and the bedsheets and towels were very rough. (fabric softener should help). The apartment is perfect for one family with two kids but not for two couples as the second room bed is very high and one would need to climb over the other person to get in and out. Also everybody needs to share one bathroom. The two things that really annoyed us were: 1) The property or interhome took our full payment more than one month prior to the stay. I understand the guarantee and charging us the cancellation or no-show fee to our credit card if we cancel, but taking our money so early started the vacaction on a bad note. 2) One needs to checkout, clear the apartment at 10.00 and walk 10-15 minutes to drop off the keys which is ok. However, Interhome nor the property provides a good solution to leave the bags securely if one feels still like skiing the day of the check out. The lockers at the train station is what they propose but these are quickly full. We needed to go down to Taesch with the train, leave the bags in the car and return to Zermatt losing 1.5 hours in the process. These two things will prevent me from staying in the same apartment or one managed by Interhome.
