Tranquil get away

Second time here, the hosts are super nice and accommodated a request to swap for a dog-friendly room (I accidentally booked one that wasn't). The location is right in the middle of the woods, it's amazing waking up to the bird songs and sipping a coffee whilst looking at the morning forest. Beautiful. Definitely will be back!

Lovely historic property, excellent stay.

It was a lovely property, very clean and had everything we needed (2 adults and two teens). Location was great for Forest walks, peace and quiet and spending quality family time together. The tv had Netflix and prime (to log into) so we could also have a movie night. The hosts were very helpful and are very close by if we had needed anything. We would stay here again.

Very very minor - some snuggly blankets would be nice on the sofas for kids like ours who get up super early and sneak downstairs to watch tv. The property wasn’t cold but more just for coziness.

Lovely location, house was well equipped and nicely furnished. Several walks direct from property, into the woods. Easy to walk to nearby tap room for beer and pizza.

Second stay at the Pumping Station, and will definitely be staying again in the future.

Our second stay here and everything was as good as the first time. Hosts very approachable and happy to help with any queries etc. Spacious, comfortable, peaceful, clean, modern decor (whilst maintaining some of the original features of the pump house), and well kept and maintained. Also dog friendly, with a towel and treats waiting for our arrival. Has everything you could need, like a home from home!

Lovely peaceful location and attractive property, but choose your room with care

Location, peace and quiet. Characterful property.

Only velux windows in the Bat Loft, so light comes in but no opportunity to look out - made it feel claustrophobic. It got very stuffy in the Bat Loft and there was no fan in the room. I was told where I could buy one though!

The Pumping Station is beautiful it wasn’t, too-hard to find, clear instructions where given before my arrival. I did find the road and lane leading up to it scary there are many stretches that only one car can use. You literally can walk from the door step into the forest and most attractions are only a few miles away. The bed was soo comfortable I tried to see-what make the mattress was !!

This is such a small point. The 3 bins between the kitchen and the sofa

Perfect for a peaceful trip away.

The property is in a very peaceful location. Easy to find using a satnav, even at night! Lovely hosts, couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome. We were told of all the things to do in the area too. I can’t wait to return, I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent, we will be back.

Finished to a very high standard loads of space and very comfortable. Large conservatory. Miles of forest tracks for our two dogs to enjoy. The owners live on site and were very welcoming and helpful.

No window in the lounge and dark inside. Not a criticism, the renovation of the building reflects the heritage of the property. The conservatory was comfortable and a light and sunny area to relax in.

Excellent property & host

Lovely rural, quiet location, but easy to find with the host's directions & country lanes not particularly narrow. Can walk to picturesque St Anthony's Well. Good location for kid's attractions - 20 minute drive to Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway & Clearwell Caves. Excellent property size, fast WiFi, SMART TV, modern bathroom & en suite with powerful rainfall showers. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking for a few days. Incredibly friendly host, who even helped us deal with a vomiting accident from our daughter, whilst still maintaining good grace and a smile. Would happily return if we needed to stay in this area again.

At one point, had a slight problem turning the heat down in the en suite shower. Maybe a touch on the expensive side.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the property and exploring the local area

We stayed in The Old Furnace for Easter weekend with our 2 dogs. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s a stones throw away from the forest and is in an excellent location. We couldn’t fault anything about the property. Jill the property owner, was very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on places to go in the surrounding area.

A great place for our stay.

The accommodation was as it said in the description. Clean, tidy, quiet. In the "middle of nowhere".

Beds where a bit hard (new). The Mobile phone to the staff did not work (don't know why).

This property offers a lovely location for a peaceful stay with all the comforts you would expect.

The location of this property is excellent. Very quiet and peaceful on the edge of a wooded area with easy access for walking. The property has been nicely converted to a good standard and has functional equipment and accessories e.g. sufficient crockery etc. and a dishwasher.

There was a bit of an issue with cleanliness in the bedroom, with cobwebs in the corner and behind the wardrobe. Although the bed is a good size, for us the mattress was too firm to be comfortable.

Lovely apartment in the forest so peaceful and apartment is modern and finished in lovely high standard, kitchen well equipped even has a dishwasher. Jill who owns the apartments is so lovely and friendly and we will definitely be back to stay again .

The bed was a little firm for us and a blind on the front door would have helped with privacy as if you left the bedroom door open there was a view straight through.

We rented the Bat Loft and had not appreciated that there was not a table for meals. Carrying hot food down a twist, steep staircase to a table in the conservatory was hazardous.

Perfect getaway for a family break.

We were met by the owners. Extremely friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. We were made to feel at home and our toddler loved the toybox. The location was great for exploring. Would definitely rebook.
