Il Fienile -The Barn at Rose Cottage in Tuscany

The barn was spacious and comfortable and the large garden was great for our children to run around. The kitchen was well equipped, however, some basic stuff such as a kettle and a toaster were missing and I did miss these a lot. The location was a good starting point for day trips. Overall it was a good pick for us and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We knew just what to expect since this was our second stay in the "barn". We were not disappointed in any way! The owners are super nice and helpful, and everything you need is here. We loved that it is close to the Cinque Terra. We really hope to return a third time in the future!

We hebben twee heerlijke weken gehad in dit vakantiehuis. Met de auto ben je in 10 minuten bij de zee. Mooie uitstapjes naar Lucca, Cinque Terre, Pisa en Fosdonivo. Ook erg leuk was het adventure park Fosdinovo. Dat is zeker een bezoek waard! Voor groot en klein. De eigenaren hebben ons naar mooie plekjes gestuurd en goed geadviseerd waar we informatie over vroegen. Heel behulpzaam dus. Bovendien is het huisje mooi en netjes ingericht. Wij hebben en prima vakantie gehad!!

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus sowohl für Familien mit Kind (wir waren zu Dritt dort) als auch für Pärchen bestens geeignet. Das Haus ist liebevoll & sehr geschmackvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Kostenloses Wifi ist vorhanden. Der Garten ist richtig schön angelegt und lädt zum Entspannen ein, sowohl in den zwei vorhandenen Hängematten als auch auf den Sonnenliegen;-) Für die Kinder gibt es sogar ein Baumhaus und ein Fußballtor.Essplatz mit Gartenmöbeln ist direkt am Haus. Handtücher und Bettwäsche inklusive. Ein Supermarkt im Ort ist keine fünf Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen und ein kleiner Supermarkt sogar fussläufig. Die Umgebung bietet unheimlich viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, die wir leider nicht alle machen konnten. Pisa und Lucca sind sehr zu empfehlen, in Sarzana (kleinere Stadt in der Nähe) kann man abends eine leckere Pasta auf dem Marktplatz genießen. Von der Hafenstadt La Spezia aus kann man eine richtig tolle Bootstour zu den Cinque Terre machen-für uns ein absolutes Highlight! In La Spezia selbst kann man abends noch im Hafen Muscheln und Pizza vom Blech genießen-günstig und super lecker-vorallem mit Blick auf den Hafen. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Strandabschnitt in der Nähe, sehr gut für Kinder geeignet. Die Vermieter, James und Chicca und ihre beiden Söhne, waren sehr gastfreundlich und haben uns viele Infos und Tipps rund die Umgebung gegeben. We were looking for something close to friends that live in this area. We couldn't have been happier with this "barn". It was just perfect for the 3 of us adults, with plenty of room and every convenience we needed. The owners were super sweet, and went out of their way to make us comfortable, even to the extent of buying an american coffee pot for us. We would highly recommend this property, and would stay there again if we are ever so fortunate as to get back to Italy.

Our family is on an extended holiday and we had been driving around Europe for weeks when we decided to stop for a bit and recoup. The cottage had been gorgeously renovated and was spotlessly clean. We had convenient laundry facilities and excellant wireless Internet. We have been traveling on a budget and this felt like pure luxury. James and Chicca were inviting, fun loving and full of advice and suggestions. We extended our stay and almost didn't want to leave. The Fosdinovo adventure park is not to be missed. The Cinque Terre and Pisa are easy day trips. We went to a new hilltop castle or fortress everyday. Highly, highly recommended.

What a great decision it was to spend our Easter break in this fantastically located and beautiful home. Every detail was lovingly thought out to make visitors feel cozy and pampered. The huge yard was perfect for our children to run around and explore, complete with a tree house, hammock and swing. The owners (and their dog) were welcoming, friendly, flexible and generous with their advice, their provisions, and their delicious homemade bread! After easy day trips to local castles, ancient hill towns, Pisa, Lucca, Portovenere or the towns of Cinque Terre, it was so relaxing to come "home" and let the children run around outside while we turned on some opera music, cooked up fresh pasta and opened a bottle of local wine. We will DEFINITELY recommend this "barn" to all of our friends and hopefully return soon ourselves.

We stayed for a week in this lovely house accros the sweet and friendly owners. It's a great place to chill down and enjoy Toscany in slow pace. Lovely yard if you have small children. A lot effort went in making the house a great and luxury stay, too bad there was no air-conditioning. Anyway a great place to say.
