All guests should take care when using the internal stairs as they are steep and although they have a handrail, they do not have balustrades to prevent falls. Adults should closely supervise young children to ensure that they do not climb on or around the stairs.
As the mezzanine wall on 1st floor is below 1 metre high, all guests should take care on and around this area and young children should be closely supervised by an adult due to the potential fall risk.
As the deck barrier is below 1 metre high, all guests should take extra care and adults should closely supervise young children to ensure that they do not climb on or around the horizontal balustrades due to potential fall risks.
Please note that the Drive is steep and could be difficult to traverse.

Te Maiki Retreat is a cosy and relaxing getaway with spectacular views. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and it is just a short walk to the township, which is a great bonus. A perfect spot to unwind - we loved our stay and will definitely be back again.

Stayed here for three nights. What a lovely view. Every evening we sat on the lanai, ate dinner and watched the sunset. The house is a little rough around the edges, but very comfortable. You can't beat the view.

First of all, the view from the deck was fantastic. The property is at the end of a steep rise so that is something to bear in mind (was not an issue for us). The property is a little tired around the edges but we were extremely comfortable and had the best nights' sleep for ages. We'll miss that view!

We loved Russell and loved staying at Te Maiki Retreat. The accomodation was just what we were looking for and we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. View from balcony is beautiful. Absolutely would stay again!
