Great location for not such a great price

The location is the highlight of La Casa del Vino. Near all the attractions but still in a quiet alley. Great contact with our host Silvia too.

The standard seemed a bit low considering the price paid, however maybe it was due to the ongoing Antique Fair in Parma. However, it would be nice to receive a better quality of towels and bedsheets. It was clean enough, but I feel the whole apartment could use a proper deep-cleaning. Not necessarily a drawback, but still - have in mind that the shower is very small and a larger person could have a problem even entering it. Same with narrow staircase that leads to the apartment. The placement of apartments in the building, right beside the staircase is such that anytime somebody enters / leaves you hear very loud “buzz” of the door - we managed to sleep okay, despite that, but it can be considered a nuisance for some.

Reasonably priced room for short stay.

Stayed in ‘Malvasia’ which was on the ground floor so no stairs to access. Room was an adequate size, as was the bathroom. Access would have been easy had I screen shotted the codes! (I had thought I’d downloaded them but then couldn’t get them so would definitely recommending screen shotting). The air con worked excellently and the fridge was a godsend in such hot weather. Bed comfy. Area feels safe which is important to me as a solo traveller, and area is reasonably quiet.

Nowhere to cook and no kettle. Cutlery, a glass and a mug had been provided but no plates! Had to improvise with plastic containers. Also, no sink in the ‘kitchen area’ so had to use the bathroom sink and there was no washing up liquid provided (I guess cause there isn’t a sink). I had thought that because of this the cutlery and cups may be replaced during my stay (was there for 4 nights) but this wasn’t the case. Reading back it says some rooms do not have full kitchen facilities although I wouldn’t say this was clear when I booked the single room. Room could be noisy as you can hear people coming and going, (it is necessary to press the loud door unlock switch to get out of the front door which is right next to the room) and walls are thin so if people talk outside the room you can hear everything. Maybe if you were in a room upstairs this wouldn’t be a problem. Not enough toilet roll to last me 4 days - guess I could have requested this although I didn’t. Also, no facilities to recycle which was disappointing given the importance of this and that in Italy they seem keen on this. I left my recycling separately but unsure if this would have been recycled. Dust under and behind the wardrobe and under the fridge, and mould behind the bathroom sink on the floor). Also need to make sure you keep the blinds shut if you don’t want people to see in when they walk past. Not that I was bothered - but description says wine included - there was none in my room.

Beautiful apartment, we would defo come back

Super helpful and friendly staff, always responsive, 5min walk to the city centre, quiet street, proper fridge, sufficient kitchen, good shower

All very minor issues compared to how great the property was, but if i were to comment: - the smell from the sewage was strong at times - the property has no elevator so if you’re coming with 35kg suitcase, it could be a problem - nearest parking space is at the shopping centre and costs 10eur/day (the street is access restricted)

Lovely room with everything you need for a few days. Very helpful hosts and excellent location.

Actually nothing, maybe as a tip for the hosts: add some pepper, salt and oil to the kitchenette. That would make it a ten.

Small and comfortable in the city.

In a nice and quiet part of the city, easy to manage the check-in, small room but clean and comfortable. Bathroom OK, bed OK, really great stay.

I was fighting with the TV, not easy to use, but probably this was my limitation. Nothing else. Maybe a water heater would be great for tea.

Second time staying here - very pleased to come again. The room is comfortable and we slept well, and the little kitchen is useful. Silvia was very friendly and quick to respond to messages, and allowed us to check in early which was a great help!

Perfect cute room

Very cute room in an old building, well designed and decorated, nice grappe fragrance in the room, easy access with codes (you should do the check-in while you stil have internet to get the codes, don’t wait the last minute!). I wish all the rooms I book were like this one! For an unknown reason they moved us from Sauvignon room (3rd floor) to Cabernet room (?) on the 2nd floor, for which I was grateful since the stairs are narrow and I had a 28kg suitcase 😂

Comfortable quiet room up at the top, not far from the centre of town. Decent amount of space, good bathroom, and a convenient basic kitchen. Very easy check-in and check-out and good communication with host

It wasn't a problem for us but be aware that the stairway is narrow and there is no lift.

one could not open the window, bad smell in the bathroom, noisy due to the fact that the door is very thin and the room on the ground floor is closest to the main entrance (you hear every spoken word) of the house

Great location with several low-key and varied restaurants near by. there are at least 3 within a 5 minute walk that are well worth it. Hreat management as well! Sylvia was communicative and very friendly. We loved Parma.

This is not a criticism, and please read the description. the Sauvignon Apt is on the 4th floor (loft) of the building and has a narrow winding staircase. Just pack light and take your time. it is worth the climb!

Great, clean and spacious room for a short stay in Parma

The building with the 3 rooms are well located and within walking distance from the city center. Even tough we did not see the host, communication was excellent and everything was well prepared. The room was very clean and has all you need for a short stay. We were happy that there was an aircon as we stayed in the room on the top roof and it was very hot already end of June (2022). There is a parking (repoiblica) closeby that costs 10 euros/24h (Central Parking Repubblica).

Important to know: there are very narrow stairs to reach the upper rooms; therefore big luggages are not recommended.

Perfect accommodation for a few days, kind host

nice flat, about 10-15 minutes walk from the center, it's easy to get in with the codes, you don't need a key. The host was very kind and helpful.

I would not hesitate to stay at la casa del vino again when i'm in parma.

The hotel has a very good location. i was at the cibus fair and the shuttle bus drove almost to the front door, it was only a few steps away from the bus stop. It has a few small, good restaurants just around the corner, e.g. the osteria dello zingaro or the osteria del 36 (michelin rated). It had a nespresso machine in the room with capsules, sugar, etc. everything was there. Silvia, the owner forgot to put toilet paper in the bathroom, but brought it as soon as I wrote to her. she also added two chocolate easter bunnies as an apology, smile...

there was nothing to complain about.
