    I stayed at Hotel East Taichung for three nights. Although there were only two of us in each room, I chose rooms designed for three people, which gave us plenty of space and made our stay very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, the bathroom was clean, and the water pressure was strong. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel.

    I have a wonderful stay, primarily because of the location and not forgetting the morning buffet and night snacks. It is super convenient to get around Taichung and famous Taichung 2nd Market. Just a short hassle free walk to the nearest public bus stops to get to the Night Markets. The location makes it easy to get around Taichung and many great eateries and restaurants around that area. The hotel staffs are polite and very helpful. I love the cleanliness of the hotel and room cleaning services are good and on point daily.

    Surrounding area has nothing to walk to. Would be better staying near the High Speed Rail, than staying near the Taichung train station. Both stations are not close apart. The hotel itself has great service, including breakfast, snacks and dinner (from 8pm). Considering the sleepy neighbourhood, I really appreciated having this hotel as a base to head to other areas like Sun Moon Lake and Alishan. You can come back without worrying about shops nearby closing. The location has a few traditional cake shops nearby, good for buying souvenirs. Otherwise, it's in a very boring and disorganised neighborhood.
