About this cottage rental
Historic hundred-year-old renovated beach cottage. Original hardwood floors, beadboard and architectural features, plus all the modern amenities including central heat/air, ceiling fans in living room and bedrooms. Open floor plan for socializing. Spacious master bedroom and second bedroom. Two smart TVs, unlimited WIFI. Fully-stocked kitchen with granite countertops and island. Front porch, back patio, fenced yard is pet-friendly.

YOUR HOST: Debra Hilgeman, owner/premier host, lives nearby and takes great pride in ensuring the best possible experience for every guest. She has four other FIVE-STAR beach rentals in the area: Mermaid Beach House (VRBO 2659715) with 4 bed/3bath, Palm View Beach House (VRBO 2237338) with 3 bed/2 bath, Magnificent Magnolia Beach House (VRBO 3179963) with 3 bed/2 bath, and Pelican Beach House (VRBO 3180005) with 3 bed/2 bath.

* GREAT LOCATION: Two blocks to beach in nice, quiet and safe neighborhood. Close to Island View Casino, Beach Casino, downtown, Navy Base, Aquarium, parks, and Port of Gulfport with ferry boats to Ship Island.
* THINGS TO DO: Walk to the beach (and bring the dogs with you) and follow the boardwalk for miles, eat at the great restaurants downtown, play at the casinos, visit the new aquarium, golf at nearby courses, and enjoy all that the beautiful Mississippi Coast has to offer. West Side Park and waterfront Jones Park are nearby. Fishing piers and the Ship Island Ferry are also close by--take a memorable trip to an island with Civil War fort and beautiful island beaches and you'll probably see schools of dolphins following the ferry. Fishing charters are also close by.
* BEDROOMS: Two bedrooms. Master bedroom has queen bed and adjoining bath with shower. Front bedroom has antique full bed with a slideout single mattress, if needed. Sleeper sofa in living room has double gel foam mattress. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
* BATHS: Two baths--ensuite to master bedroom has vanity/shower/toilet, and hall bath has tub/shower/vanity/toilet.
* KITCHEN: Fridge with icemaker, glass top electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, combo drip/Keurig coffee maker,14-cup drip coffee maker, toaster, and tons of dishes, pots/pans and utensils. New cabinets and granite countertops. Dining table seats four, adjacent bar seats 4.
* TV & INTERNET: 50" smart TV in living room. Master bedroom has smart TV for streaming and local programming. High speed unlimited WIFI.
* UTILITY ROOM: Washer/dryer and laundry supplies. Iron/ironing board.
* YARD: Large back yard is totally fenced with a 6 ft. wood privacy fence so very pet friendly. Cement patio in back with, picnic table, umbrella table/chairs for socializing. Front porch has charming swing.
* PARKING: Side parking area can accommodate three vehicles, RV, boat, trailer.
* GAMES AND BEACH GEAR: Beach chairs, beach towels, board games and kid games inside.
* DAY TRIPS: Exciting day trips to the New Orleans French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and plantation museums are less than a two-hour drive from the Flamingo Beach Cottage. Or, head east to Mobile and the battleship and submarine for a fun day trip.
* PETS: Pets are welcome but must be pre-approved by Owner. No puppies or aggressive breeds. $20 fee per pet per night. Two small dogs (under 30 pounds) or one large dog (up to 80 pounds). Sorry, but no cats due to allergies. Exceptions on a case-by-case basis as authorized by Host. If guests bring any unauthorized pet(s), the deposit will be forfeit. The cleaning company doesn't charge extra upfront for pet(s) but any evidence left behind (hair, messes, etc.) will result in extra cleaning fees depending on how much the cleaning company needs to do.
SMOKING: Outside only. Deposit will be forfeit if smoke smell detected inside house.
HOST SUPPLIES: All linens, towels, blankets, etc.. Shampoo/conditioner, bath soap, hair dryers, hand soap, kitchen soap, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies.
RENT TERMS: Nightly fee is based on four people (two per bedroom). For every additional person the cost is $20 per person per night. Maximum occupancy is 7 people. No charge for infants; all children count as guests. Deposit will be forfeited if there are unauthorized guests. Primary guest must be 25 or older. No parties or events. 100% refund for cancellations within 30 days of arrival.
SECURITY: There is an outside security camera for your safety and mine.
* TRAIN: A railroad track runs parallel to the beach along the Coast, so you may hear the train tracks nearby. Locals are used to this and if you're close to the beach, you're close to the train tracks.
GUEST BOOK: The guest book has phone numbers and info on local attractions, shopping, day trips, emergency numbers, restaurant recommendations, and much more.

Flamingo Cottage was awesome. Such a cute house with everything you need. Deb our host was so nice and quick to respond to any questions. I would highly recommend to anyone headed to Gulfport.

We’ve stayed in the Cottage three times in the last two years and love it every time. So close to the beach and shopping it’s perfect for us. Debra is a first class host!
