This charming traditional Canarian house, with more than 150 years of history, evident in its thick stone walls and original wooden floors, is located in the neighbourhood of La Calera, surrounded by charming pedestrian streets. The house is just a few minutes from the beach, the Borbalán neighbourhood and the Valle Gran Rey Natural Park. Its restoration, which began in 2008, was the home of the poet Celia Askanova, after whom it is named. During its restoration, special attention was paid to respecting the original layout and materials, a clear example of traditional 19th century Canarian architecture. This is reflected in the wooden floors and ceilings and in the typical Canarian gastronomy.
The Askanova house consists of three floors: the Askanova flat (located on the ground floor) and two more floors.
The ground floor (Askanova flat) has a terrace and garden furniture, a double bedroom with double bed, a bathroom and a living room-kitchen with a 1,60 x 2,00 sofa bed. The rest of the house (first and first floor) has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room with a sofa bed (1,60 x 2,00) and DVD player, wifi, satellite TV ASTRA, stereo, reading lamp, games, etc., and a traditional Canarian kitchen. The roof terrace is a sunny terrace with garden furniture and sea views. The house has a washing machine.
Both kitchens are equipped with toaster, kettle, espresso machine, electric hob, mixer, etc.
House rental options in Askanova:
1-4 persons: First and first floor (If the client wishes, it is also possible to rent the whole house).
For 5 or more persons: Complete house (ground floor, first and first floor).
If the client has 4 or less persons, the flat in Askanova can be rented to another client.
Casa Askanova is only 5 minutes by car from the beach of La Calera, a few minutes from the Natural Park of Valle Gran Rey and 25 minutes from the National Park of Garajonay. It is also an ideal starting point for hiking and active leisure activities.
