Mar&Mar Houseboat Studio

The houseboat was excellent. Very comfortable, clean, quiet, interesting, unique. Highly recommend. It is a 30 minute walk to the main attractions, not a problem for us as the tourist areas are so busy we are glad we didn't stay there. Plenty of bars, restaurants, supermarkets all within 10 minutes walk.

Fabulous location, so great to sit and watch the boats going by. Easy to walk to main areas, supermarket around the corner. Compact and clean, had everything that was needed.

Marco was so welcoming and the place was clean and tidy. The location was closeby the busy De Waag area, near Chinatown and into de Wallen but as soon as you walk down the street towards the houseboat it goes wonderfully quiet and peaceful. There’s a Jumbo, Albert Heijn and Kruidvat all next to each other 2 mins walk away and metro station nearby (we chose to walk everywhere!) so it had all the convenience needed for your stay.

Not a problem, but be aware that the canal does get used for tour boats so passing by so the slatted blind will be your best friend if you want some privacy and still see the lovely view outside!

What an amazing place! Totally remodeled and self contained unit on a canal boat. Kitchenette, dining space, living space, nice bed and full bath. The VERY best part is the entertainment provided by the stream of tourist boats passing by the huge windows that can be opened wide to the canal. Just watch or wave—it is all fun! The location is great too—away from the chaos of the touristy areas in a quiet, residential area, but just a few blocks from a metro and walking distance to some cute, quaint bars for a nightcap. We miss it already, totally amazing place with everything that you need—if you like something a bit off beat from the usual hotel stay. 5 stars to us!
