Sewerage stink from the toilet! Was putrid odour upon midnight check in and despite attempts to fix the cistern and douse with spray/scent, it was only a temporary fix. It was still there the wafting next morning. Slept with a mask on. Shower didn’t work at all. Not a drop.

Elegant boutique hotel with atmosphere and high-end style and amazing staff

This is an absolutely elegant hotel set on the hills of Oaxaca. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The Mediterranean-Mexican restaurant serves delicious food and the staff are highly attentive.

Beautiful small property with an outstanding staff

Everything about the property was great. Jorge, one of the restaurant staff - went out of his way to meet all our expectations. He arranged to have our dinner a bit earlier on New Years Eve; he gave us suggestions about they kinds of food we should look for downtown and the price we should pay for taxi's - everything. The property was spotless. The pool was small but warm and nicely situated. There are only 8 rooms and it just felt uncrowded and homey.

Its a long way from the center of the city, but we knew that going in. There was also a slight "on again off again" odor in the bathroom that the staff tried to mitigate.

AMAZING hotel in the hills above Oaxaca de Juarez

This is the definition of boutique. Very small property allowing for very personal service. Luxurious and relaxing.

About a 15-20min drive away from the main part of Oaxaca City so plan accordingly.

Beautiful property, luxurious stay. Loved being here after a chaotic day in town!

Beautiful facilities. Pool and grounds were simply stunning. The restaurant, room, bathroom, all gorgeous. The overall aesthetics were flawless. Comfort was a 10 for the room, fresh air with screen doors, big bed, TV. Staff were so attentive, always there to help with anything. We also got a driver to bring us downtown - it was SO easy and affordable. Got a massage, that was excellent as well. Overall, really loved our stay.

The menu at the restaurant needs reviewing by the chefs and owner. It seemed like they haven't tasted all of their own dishes in a while - some very overdone, too much seasoning, too heavy. Needs some tweaking, but the presentation and ingredients are there. I think they need to simplify a bit. If they could adjust the restaurant menu, this place would be a home run!

Above all, the staff. The place might be a luxurios hotel, but it is really about the people. Every single one of them is a hard worker, very friendly person.

The food. We had our most of our meals there in order to stay more time at the hotel and taste a good menu, sadly, it wasnt the case.

The food from the hotel restaurant is great

There was some kind of product in the enchantment water. so when you shower or wash your hand there were mini bubbles and a soapy feeling. They also didn't replace the vanity kit in the bathrooms, they didn't replace soap, shampoo, etc. There is no fridge in the rooms

Beautiful stay in Oaxaca

Everything was perfect. The staff are friendly, warm and inviting. They go out of their way to make sure guests feel at home. The food was very good on-site. The hotel helped arrange taxis daily (very very very affordable, don’t let the location intimidate you, it’s about $5 to get downtown), as well as special excursions.

A truly white-glove experience of a vacation, is what you can expect while staying at Origen.

Everything was AMAZING! I've never stayed at a hotel that places such impeccable detail and consideration towards the guest experience. Manuel and the staff were all so great and everything from the communication and accommodations to the facilities and concierge services, the guest experience was incredible. Manuel even had taxis arranged for our pick up from any part of the city, tours setup and transport to and from the airport. The restaurant food and drinks were so delicious. A truly white-glove experience of a vacation, is what you can expect while staying at Origen.

Literally the best hotel experience I’ve ever had! gorgeous property, the friendliest staff, comfy beds, world class amazing food, thoughtful design and so much more. Ate so many delicious meals at the on-site restaurant! Loved this boutique hotel

15-20 min drive from the city but worth it. Have the hotel arrange a driver for you and it’s worth it

Gorgeous space and nice to be away from hustle & bustle of city center. Heated saltwater pool is great and the staff is incredible. Front desk communicates great over WhatsApp. They kindly arranged a private in-room massage for me.

They provide a espresso machine but very few capsules & you have to ask for milk. It would be great to have a mini-fridge in the room.

The hotel was lovely, well designed, and had much attention to detail. The staff was always helpful and very attentive.

The location was about 20 minutes away from the city center and about an hour's walk. But we really stayed here to enjoy our final days in Oaxaca.

AND THE HOTEL CHARGE ME $62,000.00

Outstanding Boutique Hotel!

Absolutely incredibly well designed architecture. Original art work everywhere. Lush planting. Elegant. Every detail has been considered. A truly unique luxury hotel.

When we were there, the hotel had only been open for four months. So there was a minimal construction crew there to finish up details. But honestly, even the construction crew was considerate. Didn’t really bother us. So, really, there was nothin we didn’t like.

Het had super kunnen zijn, maar het personeel en het eten waren een fiasco.

De locatie is super, heel rustig en vlak op het mooie strand.

Personeel en vooral de concierge, Angel, was gewoonweg grof en onbeleefd. Keek je niet aan als je een vraag stelde, vond zijn gsm belangrijker, sprak met moeite engels of deed alsof. Het eten was ronduit slecht. Eeen rotte hamburger lijdde tot een voedselvergiftiging, waar geen gehoor aan werd gegeven en door concierge Angel gewoonweg werd weggelachen. Hotel is verouderd. Hier zien ze ons niet meer terug!
