About this cottage rental
Located on a hill, high above the bustling market of the town of Casabermeja, this exceptional property, converted from an 18th-century winery, offers a 360-degree view of stunning countryside and mountainous scenery.
Pilares Lagar is part of a privately owned 200-stremma estate, accessed by a steep, well-maintained, 2-km winding road through forests of olive trees, Mediterranean holm oaks, almond trees, and fig trees, and is full of blossoms in the spring. Within the grounds are several ancient farm caves and an open-air pit containing rock paintings said to date back approximately 6,000 years.
Ideally located for easy access to the historic cities of Granada, Ronda, Antequera, Córdoba, and Seville, you should also make time to visit the fascinating El Torcal Natural Park with its interesting rock formations. Malaga and the coast are just a twenty-minute drive away.
Retaining much of its original character, the property has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard (including full central heating).
There are two properties. The larger property, accommodating six people, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, features high ceilings with wooden beams, a huge picture window overlooking the surrounding area, and a raised area where massive wine tanks, illuminated from within, are recessed into the floor and cleverly integrated into the decor. The large open-concept living/dining area features a fireplace and comfortable seating, and the rustic-style kitchen is extremely well-equipped. The smaller property, for four people, with two bedrooms—each with its own bathroom—is spacious, airy, and equally well-equipped, with an open-concept living/dining area and kitchen, complete with a fireplace.
You can rent each house individually or the entire property for 10 people, combining the two houses.
The pool area on the side of the property has plenty of space for sunbathing, and the view from here is equally stunning. There’s plenty of space to sit outside in the sun or shade, and meals can be cooked in the old built-in oven at the back of the house and enjoyed “al fresco” with plenty of local bottles of wine.

"Since we are back in the chilly and rainy Netherlands, your beautiful house on the hilltop in Casabermeja has been on our minds and in our hearts. The cosy interior, the amazing scenery and the attention you paid to the little details, for example the flowers which were there to welcome us, are very much appreciated. It almost felt like home. And then there was the
environment: the millions of olive trees producing delicious oil (especially the Priego kind), the rolling mountain sites with the bleating sheeps and goats and of course the inspiring cities of Granáda, Sevilla, Córdoba and Cadiz. Los Pinolos was the perfect starting point for some great trips in Andalucia and a quit place to go home to.
While watching the yellow, green and grey vegetation around the house, we were imagining: how would the landscape look like in spring, with all the flowers and the lush green young plants. How idyllic it must be…This might be a reason to return to Andalucia one day. Thank you for your sharing your family house with us."
