This is a beautiful, hidden gem that we feel so lucky to have found. Right on the south Cretan coast, overlooking the sea, so quiet and peaceful but with an incredible luxury feel. Beautifully comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen and also a washing machine. The sun deck is really what sets this place apart- huge, fully decked, with 8 loungers and umbrellas and a stunning seating / dining area with canopy overhead. The view was so spectacular that we barely wanted to leave, and we had most of our meals here, cooked on the barbecue on the deck. In the morning, the sun rises over the ocean in front of you, and sets in the evening over the mountains behind. The area is very quiet, but 15 minutes drive away you will find a very well equipped supermarket with everything you would need (including oat milk for the vegans!) and the most amazing fresh vegetables and fruit like you’ve never tasted!
The trip down from Heraklion is around 1.5 hours and there are some narrow roads at the very end of the trip, but nothing to worry about. There is also internet, but given the location it is a little slower and can be sporadic. There is a wonderful dive centre (the sea lovers) just a few minutes walk away, and a beautiful boat trip available in Kali Limenes (Antonio boat tours). There are plenty of tavernas and restaurants around, we didn’t go to them only because we are all vegetarian and vegan and we just loved the pool area so much that we decided we’d prefer to eat in. One standout feature- the owners. Emmanouil and his wife greeted us at arrival with a beautiful, home made dinner as well as bread, juice, water, delicious vegetables and a moist and juicy cake that I am ashamed to say I consumed within 24 hours because it was so delicious! Thank you for this wonderful and unforgettable experience of unplugged and natural luxury.
