The Coral Retreat: Ultimate family getaway in the heart of the Island

The house is spacious and did not feel crowded for our party of 16. The out door space was gracious also. The third floor allowed for the kids to have their own area while the adults enjoyed the 2nd floor. I wish the dock was fixed so we could sit out on the water but everything else was fantastic. The toys and amenities offered really helped day time planning at the beach. I would definitely book again.

It was our 2nd summer trip staying at Coral Retreat. Its a great place to stay. Short drive to beaches, fishing pier, and Schlitterbahn.

Due to covid, this is the 3rd or 4th beach house in Galveston area that we’ve booked in the past 6 months. Despite a hiccup with our check-in time and housekeeping, when we entered the house, it was clean, spacious, and we were very pleased. Our family consists of 16 people, ages 2 and up, and we all agreed that this is the best beach house we’ve rented. The location was awesome - very quiet and peaceful, yet close to lots of amenities. It seems the owners thought of all the little details and made the house very comfortable. The house is equipped with smart technology everywhere, so just an FYI, and alexa is probably listening to everything. We had 2 people “working from home”, and was told the internet was very reliable. The house is very open and spacious, and the kitchen has all necessary items. Some of the kitchen drawers inside had crumbs and such, but we re-wash everything prior to using, so no big deal. (FYI - Coffee machine takes both ground coffee and k-cups). Bedrooms are very spacious and bathrooms are clean and equipped with toiletries and plenty of towels. We were surprised at how comfortable the beds were, even the bottom trundle and pull-outs. We only used a few items and brought most of our own, but the house is fully equipped with all things needed for children and toddlers, including dinnerware, cups, highchair, pack n play, safety gates, step stool, toddler toilet seat. The balconies are very breezy and spacious, perfect for morning coffee while keeping 7 kids occupied as breakfast was being prepared. The fishing pier, basketball goal, scooters, badminton, sandbox etc. were perfect and kept all of the kids entertained. (Our kiddos were too small to make use of the kayaks). I was pleasantly surprised at how much time we spent outdoors in August, considering how hot it is, but the breeze felt nice as long as we were under the shade, which was plentiful. There was a bench, comfortable beach chairs, and folding chairs, so plenty of seating options. I knew it was 3 bedrooms when I booked, and so glad I did because it’s an amazing home, but due to our family structure, we may not come back until the toddlers are older because we really want that 4th bedroom, but I can’t recommend this property enough.
