Welcome to Barntucket; your vacation rental house of choice when visiting Nantucket Island. Experience the islands history, charm and enchantment in this historic six bedroom, three bath antique carriage house with a pool and hot tub. Built in the early 1800’s, Barntucket today is truly an intimate residence retaining all its original detail. Smoke free and child friendly, Barntucket accommodates up to ten people. Make Barntucket your rental home of choice when visiting Nantucket.
The first floor has three bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom has a king bed. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third has a bunk bed. Of the two first-floor bathrooms, one has a shower, the other a tub/shower combination.
The second floor has two bedrooms and one bath. Each second-floor bedroom has two twin-sized beds. The second-floor bathroom also has a shower.
The common areas on both floors are spacious. Each floor has its own kitchen, as well as dining and living area. The first floor also has a separate study/library.
There is a large enclosed porch at the east end of the house with ample wicker chair seating. This makes for a beautiful breakfast area with lots of sunlight.
The patio area has a Weber® 74″ professional stainless steel gas grill and a Weber® charcoal grill, chaise lounges and a table with a large market umbrella and chairs.
Barntucket is pet-friendly, with permission of the owner.
Barntucket Amenities:
Usage of the pool and hot tub is seasonal.
Barntucket has central air conditioning, dehumidifying and heat, all propane gas.
High Speed Internet plus WiFi throughout the property.
Gourmet kitchen fully equipped (Sub Zero®, Kitchenaid®, Cuisinart®)
Ample bed linens and towels provided
Heavy duty Washer and Dryer
Two Stereo Systems; downstairs with AM/FM, 300. The upstairs Yamaha stereo system has AM/FM with Bose speakers.
Four Flat Screen HDTVs with remote control/Blueray DVD/VCR including a Sony Bravia® 46″ HDTV (upstairs) with a Bose® surround sound home entertainment system, Apple TV on both floors.
Ample closet and storage space in each bedroom
Outdoor shower with hot and cold water.
Beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels and two large coolers
Daily maid service, catering and special requirements can be arranged at an additional cost.
Barntucket is “pet friendly” with approval of the owner.
Barntucket makes an ideal site for wedding accommodations, small meetings, executive retreats or think-tank sessions.
We have a one week minimum during the summer months of July and August.

We were welcomed and promptly had our concerns handled by a professional staff. The house is charming and accommodating even for larger groups and the pool/hot tub is the cherry on the cake.

We had 6 girls age 2-8 and 4 adults. The location was walkable to Main Street which made life easy with kids, the backyard was just big enough for them to run around without losing them, love that the 2 bunk rooms were on the main floor so that we were constantly running up and down stairs for kids clothing, but also loved that the some of the guests could have their space upstairs.
The wood paneling and decorations reminded us of growing up coming to Nantucket; it’s a charming old house full of character and we loved that.
The host was very helpful and responsive.
It was a great experience.

So many great things to say about barntucket and the host team! The house definitely lives up to its name with its wood floors, ceilings, butcher block kitchen table and it’s quirky decorations everywhere. We loved it! The house was very clean, has amble sleeping, various hang out spaces and is very welcoming everywhere. I would often spot people quietly reading either on front or back porch, yard or in a nook somewhere while others chatted away or made meals. Everyone just seemed so comfortable with a total vacation vibe! The teenagers had their space upstairs (inclusive of its own full kitchen! and bathroom) with tv, two rooms with twins and living room while downstairs was more of a social adult vibe (no tv) with easy to use Sonos system, fully stocked kitchen, lots of books, a large dining table for family meals and even a chest filled with funny hats that I made everyone wear one festive dinner. Downstairs bedrooms (excluding the master) share a bathroom off the kitchen across the house (also near the perfect outdoor shower) so those occupants have to be comfortable walking around in their towels! Everyone said their beds were super comfortable. The master and “second master” bedroom are plenty spacious with amble closets. The other two bedrooms on the ground floor with bunks (bottom bunk is queen size bed) are a bit small with little walking and storage space but the teenagers didn’t mind it! The outdoor set up was clean, with big barbecue on gas main (super convenient), teak wood table and a couple loungers. We suggested to the owner to consider cushions for this furniture and he appreciated the idea. The location was perfect for us - near the famous “something natural” made getting sandwiches before hitting the beaches without traffic so perfect. We biked or walked into town every day. We *really* enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!!
