Summer Place | Oceanfront Covered Porch!

Great property. The only drawback is when traveling with a dog, the sand in the yard area is full of thorns, which is bad for the dogs pads. Our dog will only potty in grass and/or gravel, therefore we had to walk a bit to find a place to potty. Note: the wood walkway which leads to sandy path is perfectly fine to walk on with bare feet. This isn’t a negative posting, just giving a heads up to those who have fussy dogs.

Nice property, well appointed kitchen. Gorgeous view out the main deck to the beach. Love that we could just walk out and be right on the beach with no hassle. Main road that the house is on is pretty busy, and not suitable for biking with children. There were nice parks nearby that we enjoyed with our children as well and the pier was a short 20 minute walk on the beach. House could use some improvements and showed basic sign of a beach house like slightly rusted vents and floors that showed signs of previous water damage. Overall, we truly enjoyed our experience staying at this house and would book again if the opportunity presented itself. Thank you so much!

Nice house with beautiful beach views. Covered porch is great for enjoying the beautiful views and just relaxing. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Location is great. Beach is not crowded and restaurants and the pier are less than a mile away. Southport ferry and Fort Fisher are also very close.

Location is great, however; there were many issues associated with the house. Some of these issues include a portion of the walkway to the beach that is in desperate need of repair. Nail heads sticking out of the boards, (which I raked my foot on one) and walkway posts with rusted screws sticking out of the top. In the house, the main bathroom tub does not drain. We called the management company, which was very helpful and came out and took many pictures, and they fixed it once. However, the issues resurfaced a day later. Some of the blinds were missing slats, there was a "repaired" hole in one of the walls in the master bedroom, none of the ceiling fan remotes worked properly or at all, mold or accumulated dust visible on the ceilings vents, towel bar in the master bathroom about to fall off, we had to have the light above the stove replaced, and numerous areas where the walls need repair due to apparent water issues. These issues may sound petty, however; when one pays a significant amount more for this house than one rented last year (one block down and one block off the beach which was awesome), the extra price you pay for for house with many defects, some health related, is not worth it. Lastly, the table in the living area is huge. Very cumbersome.
