It is hard to rate this hotel fairly, as the staff go above and beyond to please the guests. But one thing must be said – it is not a luxury or high-end hotel, as the pictures might suggest. It's a small budget hotel, and with that considered, it is okay.

The pool is just next to the reception desk, in the same open room as the few fitness machines, a half-broken ping pong table and the tourist desk. It's nothing like what's presented in the pictures. The rooms are also a bit run-down, not too clean, and the bathroom/toilet is already mouldy and also not very clean. The toilet door has openings at the top and bottom and is right opposite the bed, so there's no privacy. The room had a kettle and cups but no tea, coffee or fridge. Upon check-in, we had to wait half an hour as there was no staff around. Very few people service the whole hotel, from breakfast to driving the shuttle car. The breakfast itself is super basic compared to all the other hotels we stayed at in China. The breakfast room is beautiful, but the food offered is a couple of fruit choices, some bread, a few dumplings, a soup station which did not meet our hygiene standards, and a few hot dishes. There's relatively little food for the number of people, so we often had to wait for the trays or baskets to be refilled. Also, breakfast starts at 7, which is a bit late given that everyone wants to be at the mountain by 8. The room does not have air conditioning you can control. On our first day, we were freezing, so we had to ask for a small heater. The second night, around 1 am, they had turned the heating up so high that it became unbearable to sleep, and we had to wake up multiple times to open the door. Worth noting that the rooms are on the flight path, so you can hear planes late at night, but there are only a few flights, so this was not a problem for us. The laundry area is also quite run-down. It's not really a room, but a couple of machines in the middle of the hallway with some abandoned rooms around. Overall, I think if the hotel updated the pictures to show a more realistic state of the property, it would help guests manage their expectations.

All was great

I was truly impressed by their airport pickup and drop-off service — it was fantastic! Every butler here was warm and attentive, and the breakfast was delicious. The Wi-Fi signal worked perfectly throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel for your trip to Zhangjiajie. They also helped me book tickets for the scenic spots in Zhangjiajie, which was such a great help. You can enjoy the stunning views of Tianmen Mountain right from the hotel. The restaurant on the 7th floor also features a lovely garden. I’m so glad I chose this hotel, and it made my whole trip to Zhangjiajie absolutely perfect!

The room is absolutely beautiful. We were greeted with airport pickup when we arrived, and they also drove us back to the airport on our departure day. Their airport transfer service is really fantastic. Breakfast was really good, and the staff’s service was excellent. The Wi‑Fi signal is strong and stable. This stay brought my trip to China to a perfect ending. I had an amazing journey here in Zhangjiajie. I will come back in the future, and this hotel is well worth recommending to all travellers.
