Nice stop and perfect quality for money they ask

Very friendly and caring owners. Fun to prepare coffee in the morning in the bar from big coffee machine. Quite. Looks like restaurant is popular- smell was nice. Nice waterfall 10 min walk from the property

Fair location with a very nice and generous host

The host was very friendly, breakfast was very good, the facilities were ok. However, you can't ask for given the price, which was extremely good.

Wunderschön!

Wir haben uns von der ersten Sekunde an willkommen gefühlt. Es ist ein tolles altes Haus mit viel Charme. Die Zimmer sind einfach, die Einrichtung alt, aber alles ist blitzsauber und voller liebenswertem Charakter. Das indische Abendessen war außerordentlich lecker. Die Selbstbedienung an der riesigen Siebträgermaschine zum Frühstück ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Gastfreundschaft und Freundlichkeit in einem heruntergekommenen, alten Hostel

Ich kam an einem Montag nach 20 Uhr im strömenden Regen an und fand das Hostel und das Restaurant komplett geschlossen vor. Glücklicherweise kam Herr Ghasi lal Khanna nach mehreren Telefonaten heraus, begrüßte mich sehr freundlich und erklärte, dass das Restaurant am Montag geschlossen sei und ich der einzige Gast im Hostel sei. Es handelt sich um ein indisches Restaurant, in dessen oberen Stockwerken die Familie des Besitzers und die Angestellten wohnen...und auch einige Zimmer für Gäste zur Verfügung stehen. Das historische Gebäude wurde 1860 erbaut und vieles ist noch im Original Zustand. Die Granit Bodenplatten und Treppen sind eindrucksvoll. Am selben Ort liegt auch der Gemüsegarten und die Trauben-Pergola des Besitzers. Alles ist heruntergekommen und ziemlich alt, obwohl es extrem sauber ist. Ghasis Gastfreundschaft macht das alles wieder wett. Er war immer aufmerksam, erklärte alles und tat sein Bestes, um einen zufriedenzustellen. Alles war unkompliziert. Das Zimmer war blitz blank, einfach aber zweckmässig eingerichtet und ruhig gelegen. Da ich der einzige Gast war und frühstückte, erklärte Ghasi mir, wie die Kaffeemaschine im Restaurant funktioniert, wie man die Milch erhitzt und so weiter … Es fühlte sich an, als würde ich ganz für mich allein in einer Cafeteria frühstücken! Er sagte mir sogar, wann frisch gebackenes Brot vor der Tür stand, damit ich es mir für mein Frühstück holen konnte. Das Frühstück ist inbegriffen und setze sich aus Kaffe, warmer Milch, frischem Brot, Butter und Konfitüre zusammen. Auf dem Weg zur Bushaltestelle traf ich Ghasi wieder, und er half mir freundlicherweise, meinen schweren Koffer zu tragen.

Sehr freundlicher und engagierter Eigentümer; authentisch indische Atmosphäre; Frühstück im Do-It-Yourself-Modus ("fühl dich wie zuhause"); Rückzugmöglichkeit im Garten hinter dem Haus; Abendessen im Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen.

Wer sich nicht auf die indische Atmosphäre einlassen möchte (im ganzen Haus riecht es nach indischen Gewürzen), sollte hier lieber nicht buchen. Das Bett war mir viel zu weich / durchgelegen - habe schliesslich auf der Matratze am Boden geschlafen.

Für unsere Wandertour der optimale Standort

Es ist schön, dass es in der Schweiz noch solche, ganz einfache und günstige Hotels gibt. Für Wanderer, Velofahrer, Motorradfahrer/innen ausgezeichnet geeignet. Was will man mehr, ein sauberes Bett und eine Dusche. Man kann am Morgen gehen wann man will, das sehr einfache Frühstück reicht für den Start. Der Kaffee von einer alten Kolbenmaschine schmeckt sehr gut! Falls man nicht indisch essen möchte, gibt es in der Nähe andere Möglichkeiten.

Toiletten und Bad auf der Halbetage, die Zimmer spartanisch. Aber es ist sauber, das Personal freundlich, das Frühstück landestypisch (einfach) …und es ist sehr preiswert. Das indische Restaurant im Haus ist für das Abendessen übrigens zu empfehlen.
