Charming Funchal Studio

The studio was perfect for the 2 of us, big bed, TV and an equipped kitchen, towels, hair dryer, toiletries for the bathroom, coffee and tea bags, AC. The area is centraly but quiet enough to be able to sleep, especially if you were wondering all day and probably would be tired at the end if the day. Had great communication with the owner, easy to access the key to the building which has a small elevator to help with the luggage. We were happy with our accommodation.

All was great.

Centrally located modern apartment with cooking facilities. Enjoyed separate seating areas for dining and watching tv. Looks like the photos advertised.

The apartment is near the cathedral which rings the bells every 15 minutes. Whilst it didn't ring overnight it's something to consider. The mattress wasn't very supportive, you can feel it sink in once lying down. The host also wasn't very proactive in messaging about check in, we got the instructions on the day about 1 hour before check in time, after sending a few messages asking for details. Shower was a tight space.

Nada. O único senão é o estacionamento nas redondezas, mas existe um parque a cerca de 8minutos a pé com um preço bastante acessível para 24h.

Location is fantastic. Very central. Staff very responsive online.

We had cold water for first two days in our 4 day stay. Staff offered to come and investigate but by then we had endured cold showers for half the vacation. There was no handwash, shower gel or other basic toiletries which was challenging for us as shops were closed on 25th and 26th December. The staff were responsive however and left a bottle of hand wash the next day. The room is very dark and it's really just a place to sleep in rather than lounge in, only one armchair which had stains. Duvet did not have a cover but were assured by the staff that duvets are replaced with every stay, not sure how environment friendly that is. Pillows were not comfortable at all. Though staff were helpful, people normally come to Madeira for a short stay so really important to get things right from the beginning. We checked out a day earlier than we had paid for.
