Best accomodation in Albania

This was, by far, the best accomodation we had while in Albania. The location high above the city was perfect for relaxing, and it offered a wonderful view over the city and the sea. The rooms were clean and decorated with great attention to detail. Breakfast was very varied and homemade, fresh, and delicious! The hotel manager was very pleasant and friendly and gave us valuable tips for the best beaches. We will definitely come back!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. The location is perfect if you're looking to escape the noise and relax, it's peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the views are absolutely stunning. The owner and his wife are incredibly friendly and welcoming, they really make you feel at home. Breakfast was also amazing, with fresh and delicious options every morning.

One thing to keep in mind: the hotel is located on a very steep hill. We definitely recommend having a car, as walking up and down can be quite challenging.

No need to visit the castle

The room was spacious, modern and clean; owners very friendly. Has a very good view of the bay.

The property is not beachfront as shown on site. High up on the hill, a car is definitely needed. When arriving, approach from the sea-side and follow the Wine Bar signs. Google Maps etc. show another route (by a mosque, if you drive by it, go back) from the land-side of the hill which is not accessible.

What a great find!.

The staff is great and friendly and fun. The room is stunning, beautiful and the wine bar which is adjacent felt like cozy place where we would always end up the day. The place is surrounded by fruit trees, and the views! Probably the best view in all Sarande. Oh did I mention that each breakfast pretty much made? Sure we didn't have to eat lunch later on... And I managed to taste three different fruits I had never tasted in my life. Just a tip to get there as Google Maps and Waze are not very reliable, make sure that you're not coming from the back of the hill which was suggested from the highway), go first towards the beach and then follow the navigation back up. You want to access it from downtown. The other way will work but oh my gosh the 180o turns at 60% elevation... You might want to avoid that! We walked a couple of times to the beach and the boardwalk. Takes about 20 minutes, but it's a salty walk-up. Perfect for burning the calories you ate downtown...

We pretty much loved everything, but we can see that that an infinity swimming pool is being built on the premise and it will be a definitely add-on to it!

Great location with unbelievable view. You can see the ocean Sarande Ksamil and Corfu. The breakfast was fantastic and very extensive The host is always available and the friendliest man you’ll find in Albania. The room is luxurious and equipped with everything you could wish for. Parking on site, payment by card. We had a fantastic weekend and recommend this location to everyone

Amazing Stay!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were incredibly kind, and always ready to help. Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The highlight was definitely the breakfast – so delicious and varied, with fresh fruits, pastries, warm dishes, and local options. Everything was fresh and high quality. Great service, and a fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend it!

I think this accommodation is the most perfect one in Saranda. The room is large and clean and tidy, with complete disposable supplies and beautiful scenery outside the window. The most important thing is that the boss Andy is a warm-hearted and friendly person. Before we checked in, he replied to my messages on the Internet in time. After check-in, he also actively dealt with what we encountered and helped us rent a car and order food. Even though it is the off-season for tourism, he provides a very perfect and flawless service. But I prefer people who plan to rent a car to stay, because this hotel is on a hillside and only a few minutes' drive up. But you'll see a very beautiful view on it, and if you're travelling to Saranda, car rental is also the best choice for most people, so it's all worth it. It is highly recommended that all tourists give priority to this hotel!

Peaceful gem in Sarandë

What a gem of a place in Sarandë! Sarandë itself is so crowded and busy… but Villa Kristiano is a super peaceful and quiet place! The breakfast is extraordinary and abundant! We were hardly able to finish all the delicious things, but host was more than willing to pack any leftovers to take away for lunch! Hosts were super friendly and helpful! Compared to other places in Sarandë / Albania it is a little bit more expensive but absolutely value for money!

Stunning all round

The view at this property is exceptional. Set up the hill in Sarande, you get to be a part of the city without the noise and traffic. The staff are really attentive and Andy was such a lovely host with a cheery and happy demeanour every single morning. He had the contacts we needed for a taxi to pick us up from the port and if we wanted to rent a car. The room is lovely, spacious and clean with a lovely shower, handheld and waterfall. Great air con and mini fridge helpful for cooling our water overnight. The breakfast is the best you will get in Albania. THE BEST.

Be aware the hill is quite a trek to the property. It is walkable but it is steep. (Worth it for the view!) You should rent a car if you see this as a challenge. You can do this at the property. Renting a car is a good idea regardless as public transport in southern Albania is not good. If you want to see this beautiful country I recommend it!

Exceptional

Absolutely amazing stay at Villa Kristiano 21. We were celebrating our honeymoon and stayed for two nights. We were put in room 103 which has a balcony that overlooks the city of Serande, so nice! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower is luxurious and the overall support from staff is top shelf. Not to mention, there is a wine bar just a few steps from our front door, where great wine and appetizers are served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. This is truly a gem in Serande and we feel very lucky to have stayed here. We would highly recommend booking a stay for multiple nights (the breakfast is AMAZING!!). We would recommend a car to get up the hill as it can be steep in a few spots and is not a very walkable trek. That being said, the drive up is worth its weigh in gold! Thank you to Andy, his wife and all staff for making our stay one we will never forget! Love , Josh + Kara

Everything! Literally, everything. Very welcoming, nice and helpful staff. Great, a bit secluded location overlooking Sarande. Comfortable, clean, neat rooms, with a unique view of the sea. The place even has a wine bar on the spot, offering a great selection of wines, locals and not. A good value for money and overall just a pleasant experience, with a staff that gives its heart into the service. We got lucky to find a couple of days to stay there, as otherwise the place is fully booked. Strongly recommend if you're in Sarande! If I had to find a small negative point, it's the road leading to the villa. A bit steep and not something you would like to do by walking in the morning and evening if going to the city. A taxi would cost you between 1200 and 1500 ALL.

The unique experience

This was perfect! A unique experience really! The villa is perfectly located so you have the most breathtaking view on the city and sea. I have to especially point out the service - great breakfast that changed up a little every morning and kept us full for almost the whole day, clean and modern room and everyone working there was really friendly and helpful, always in a good mood. I had a problem with tyre on my car and the owner did not hesitate a bit and helped me with it, really great guy. 100% would recommend to everyone looking for a friendly but luxury stay!

- Thirst of all, big thanks to Andi and his wife! The guys are awesome! Did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible. He told us the best spots to visit or to eat. Furthermore, they even upgraded our room for free. - One of the best breakfast we had in Albania. Every morning freshly prepared and made with love. - The Villa is located on top of a quiet hill with a spectacular view over Saranda. In the afternoon / evening they even have their wine bar open, where you can enjoy quality drinks and little snacks. - Rooms very tidy and big. - Nice and comfortable bed. - Spacious and clean bathroom.

Only the road is difficult to find as Google Maps is not working correctly in that area - quite bumby as well!

luxury peaceful stay with breathtaking views

this stay was the highlight of our Albania vacation. the view and the house and gardens are spectacular. the manager was so kind and made us feel so welcome. we loved the mornings with fresh goods from the bakery and in the evening we enjoyed the excellent house wine and fruit from the garden. the room was absolute luxury with a beautiful bathroom, huge smart tv and gorgeous balcony view. thank you for making our vacation here so special!

The Gem of Sarande

Our room in the Vila Kristiano was wonderful - warm and clean and with spectacular amenities, host Andi is super welcoming and kind, the view is magnificent, the wine bar next to the Vila was cosy and elegant. Breakfast included freshly pressed orange juice, different local homemade pastry, fruits, eggs, sandwich, coffee - more than we could wish for.

Highly recommended if you drive

Located on the hill above the city, Villa Kristiano 21 is a couple of beautiful new buildings in a traditional style and a generous garden, all with a splendid view across the city to the sea and the island of Corfu. The friendly host speaks good English and Greek. Lavish breakfast, usually served in the garden, in cool or wet weather in the lush lobby/wine bar (there, you'll have breakfast sitting on a couch). The Deluxe room is large and modern, with a balcony and sea view, couch, huge TV, minibar, large bathroom, separate entrance. Parking close to the house.

The way up to the hotel is very steep and rather long – you'll want to have a car. We spent four nights there, the room was only cleaned once.

Incredible view, amazing personal, great wine, awesome territory, calm atmosphere The room is great! it was build not a long time ago, so everything clean and fresh. They have a wine bar on the territory, so we spent our evenings drinking nice wine with the view to Sarande. They also have appetizers which perfectly match to the vine. Breakfasts are also great! A lot of different food, so you will be full of energy for the rest of the day. We would definitely stay here if we go to Sarande again

The road to the hotel is not really easy, so you need to take a taxi or rent a car, but believe me, it worth it!

Superb

Villa Kristiano is located on a hill above the city of Saranda, surrounded by beautiful palm and pine trees, offering great views over the sea and the city. Rooms are spacious, sparkling clean, with many amenities and super comfy beds. The breakfast is delicious and served every morning between 8-10am on the beautiful terrace of the property cafe/wine bar, right next to the rooms. The wine bar is a great choice as well for a late drink before sleeping, away from the crowds of the city. As for the owner, Andy, we are very pleased to having met him. He is very friendly with his stuff and the clients, and gave us many useful tips for our trip. Many thanks!

Everything was perfect. Keep in mind though that the property is located on a steep road up to the hill, away from the city center, and you will definitely need transportation. For us, this was a plus, since the city of Saranda is usually overcrowded and desperately noisy, so being in a calm place like this was a bless. Our advice is to take a taxi if you want to access the city center at noon (or later) instead of your own car, due to the major traffic and parking issue all around the city center.

Is located on top of the hill, away from the traffic stress and noise, having a superb view over Saranda and sea. The breakfast was rich and various, each day was something different. The host is really nice and friendly, ready to help in any matter. Family friendly, has a small playground in the yard. I would choose it again definetly.

Our stay was wonderful, especially thanks to our hosts who made it really special. Room was new, modern and very spacious. The location was perfect for us as it was hidden from crowds and town noices. We had no idea that the villa is part of winery complex which was a pleasant surprise especially because of its beautiful garden and ultimate sea and town view. Great wine selection and very personalised service from our waiter Alex and owner Hamdi. Breakfast deserves the full chapter and huge applause.
