Unfortunately, I made the mistake of assuming that since we were arriving late in the evening and only needed a place to sleep for one night, a hotel with a low rating would be acceptable. Unfortunately, it was not. I had read in another review that the city centre had been closed because of a festival and a stage performance. The same thing happened during our stay. When we arrived, there was a large stage right in the main square, with a huge crowd of people. The entrance to the hotel is directly in the city centre, right opposite the stage. First of all, we could not find the parking area and it was impossible to reach the hotel by car. I called the hotel several times, but the staff member spoke only Hungarian and did not speak any English at all. He kept telling me that there was parking, but he could not explain where it was or how to get there. I also sent messages through Booking, but received no useful response. In the end, we had to find parking ourselves and walk to the hotel. When we finally arrived, we had booked two rooms, but the staff initially tried to accommodate us in just one room. Eventually, after some reluctance, they gave us the two rooms we had booked. Unfortunately, the rooms themselves were in terrible condition — very old, worn out and unpleasant. We felt extremely uncomfortable staying there and were simply looking forward to leaving as early as possible the next morning. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.
