Le FOCH2 by Booking Guys

A perfect location on a bus route, opposite a weekly market with an excellent tourist information. Beds extremely comfortable with silky bedlinen. Flat spacious and full of light. New facilities of a high standard which worked well. Kitchen well equipped. On a busy road but that didn't disturb us. Exceptionally clean. Villfranche is a perfect little town with lots to do.

There was an assumption that guests are all Internet savvy and because of that we made some stupid mistakes about getting to the flat and check in. I also left my handbag and money behind in the flat which hopefully can be posted. All our fault but language confusion and a certain lack of sympathy didn't help.

Where do we start! Le Foch's as an apartment and its management are excellent. We met Frederick at the property who took us through all the aspects available - WiFi, TV, Facilities etc Frederick handed us 2 sets of keys and having put our luggage in our rooms we were soon off to the restaurants in Villefranche sur Mere! Arrive if you can about 5 or 6 in the evening and youre 1st night will be exploring the restaurants! The flat is perfectly placed on the main road and it is easy to walk down to the bars, seafront and restaurants - you need to be prepared for an easy although inclined walk back to the flat but taking it easy then this is no real problem - use google maps and you will be fine! From the flat cross over the main road and take Av, du Marachelle Joffe, down to the lovely port The restaurants are plentiful and highly recommended are Le Serre (near the Church) and opposite is La Belle Etoile -- both are lovely classic french restaurants - we feel that the Belle has the edge but is a bit more (10%) more expensive. Down at the harbour we recommend Les Palmiers as one that has a small view of the harbour without silly harbour restaurant prices!! The flat is over the TABAC and within 50 metres of level walking to either eastbound busses -- 607 to Monaco / 15 to Eze or westbound, same bus numbers but to Nice. We were a group of 3 senior citizens and have been to Villefranche before - it is a beautiful area and there is a really nice beach too. The busses are frequent and cheap however we would recommend Uber or Booking.com taxis for both luxury and convenience, especially to visit Eze which has a good but extremely busy bus - catch the 83 but sometimes it is full when you want to get on and the wait is quite long as it is a slow winding journey up to Eze.

Really nothing apart from a very small amount of traffic noise as we leave the windows open - there is air con in the whole flat but we didn't use it, so a bit of self infliction regarding the noise!!

The beds were comfortable. Washing machine was good.

The location is pretty ordinary for the amount we paid. Should have done better research on location. Also only 1 drinking glasses. Also You enter via a dirty laneway / driveway supermarket entrance - was a homeless person outside sleeping when we returned one night.
