Lock box with good instructions. House has lovely outlook and is spacious and comfortable. We checked out early, due to weather, so did not receive instructions about towels on bathroom floor etc in time. Perhaps all check out instructions should be provided at time of check in?

Need better explanation on how to turn on central heating - i.e. after switching on main heating switch, need to turn knobs on heating panel in each room. One panel near fireplace not working. Having to buy own firewood - a bit ungenerous I thought considering cost of rental. At least supply for first night would have been appreciated as a nice gesture. As it was raining the whole weekend we were there, the wood we bought was wet and took ages to dry out. Fire starters would also have been good. And tissues and paper towel/napkins. Also, no coffee pods provided for coffee maker and plunger was bad - did not pour properly. Oven was dirty and only had one rack in it. Generally, kitchen cupboards seemed to be very disorganised, and some pans very old and dirty. Bed in front room seemed very wobbly - possibly broken leg? we did not use. Main bedroom had no extra blankets, and shower was dripping whole time.

A spacious comfortable home with lots of lovely features. Lack of maintenance and defects degraded the experience a 6 for us. The main bathroom is on the other side of the house and down 6 steps from the bedrooms and this may affect some renters. The AC is only cooling so in the cold snap we had (8 degrees) it was no help. The oil heaters were inoperable and we had to use portable heaters. There are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms and only one window in each not sure how that would go in hot weather. The property managers appear responsive so the issue may be owners not appreciating the guest experience.

We accept that faults are challenging to rectify over the Christmas break but when those faults have been identified around 4 (or more) months previously the failure to rectify them indicates a lack of care for the renters experience. We expect to have to work around things but issues arose each day and were complicated by inadequate or absent instructions. Heating system did not work (this appears to be an ongoing issue in previous reviews) The hot water was not hot. As a result the shower was only warm to cool. By accident we then stumbled upon a control panel in the kitchen that adjusted the temperature. This should have been part of the house manual. Only 1 oven shelf! This was mentioned in a review 4 months ago - (Aug 2025) and has not been fixed. Cooking a Xmas dinner on one shelf is challenging. Garbage bags too small for size of kitchen bin - annoying. Hole in range hood exhaust tube so fumes vent into kitchen. Loose filter tap - useable but a nuisance. 2 light bulbs blown and no replacements on hand. Laundry window and door could not be opened. This was the main access to the clothes line.
