Casa Helena, Luxury Beach Side 5 Bedroom Villa

Great location, lovely sized house, garden very well maintained and pool very clean. The pool a little cool for May. Great for cycling on a lovely long promenade and close to the beach and the town. All 10 of us ( including 4 children ranging from 6-12 yrs) managed to cycle to Puerto Banus. ( supplied and delivered by marbellarentabike.com) A number or restaurants close by , the best we found on the beach side near the villa and a great play area for the kids on the beach opposite. We would definitely like to return. However the issues mentioned need to be resolved

We think check-in instructions should be made very much more clearer. Not enough emphasis was made on contacting the host when arriving. This is compounded by flight delays and the contact number being an answerphone!!!!! This resulted in 10 people on the kerbside very stressed for quite some time until someone eventually called us back. The service/maintenance of the villa is woeful, considering the quality of the property and the hefty rental . We had no hot water until the day after arrival, as no one had checked the boiler was on!! Only 2 toilet rolls for 4 toilets (a 4 pack was supplied when the boiler problem was remedied), no welcome pack /water or any handover. Minor things like no batteries in the TV remote in the master bedroom. The washing machine and dish washer whilst serviceable are very old are well past their sell by date. The property description said that they had a drier, (not tumble) these were airers and one of those was found thrown down the side of the villa. Very worryingly there are pieces of loose masonry on the 1st floor balcony that could fall into the garden. It seems that not enough checking is done. We had to try and find an open supermarket after a long day travelling and with young children as we didn't even have a bottle of water in the villa. Perhaps a welcome pack at a small cost should be offered.
