Comfortable stay in Merthyr Vale

Good location in the region. Easy to reach by car (note the traffic speed checks on the roads) and plenty of public parking available. You have the complete house available for the stay. Plenty of space and clean.

Slightly dissapointing considering the nightly rate

The location was probably the one nice thing about the property and the fact that it was close to a train station.

The furnishings in the property were extremely poor and in bad condition. House was unclean and smelling of damp, not a great effort to make the guests feel welcome. If you're not fussy and don't care much about where you sleep, it might be worth half the price!

It was a nice bolt hole for a couple of nights

The property was clean and comfortable. It was on a street that was quiet at night and it was easy to find a parking space on the street. The kitchen was well appointed and the wi-fi was good

The locals were noisy in the evenings, there were people shouting at each other across the street on two different occasions while we were there, the language used was not what a parent wants their children to hear while on holiday. A previous resident had left a greasy frying pan in one of the cupboards

Unable to do anything due to the fall

Have already filled this in once but cannot seem to reply on the owners email as it is a no reply one! Dear Gavin and Stacey Thank you for your email and sorry you didn't receive the one I sent via your original confirmation email. I was surprised as I know you had been helpful on our 2 previous visits. As regards the key I can confirm that I saw Sister Joanna Elizabeth put the key back into the keybox, and the friend from Treharris who drove us back to Portsmouth was alongside her as she did so. Our main concern is that the kitchen step is marked in some way so that no-one else suffers a fall as I did. I was carrying two bags one of which contained a large flask and I think I landed on it, hence the 2 breaks, one on the humerus bone, and the ball of the ball and socket. I am still awaiting my follow up appointment which takes place this Thursday. Although the same NHS in Wales as England the surgery here in Portsmouth did not action the paperwork "as I was out of the country". Apparently our cook had the same answer when one of her children had an accident in North Wales. Prince Charles Hospital were wonderful in their treatment and speed. Sister Mary Joy SSB

STAY WAS DEPLORABLE. BECAUSE OF THE RATS WE COULDN'T EVEN LET OUR 3 GRANDCHILDREN THROUGH THE DOOR

The only thing we liked was the location. Everything else was appalling right from the overall cleanliness, the inability of getting into the bath safely re the cupboard that my husband split his head open on, to the shower screen which had been sealed onto the bath. I could write a lot more but would go on for ages. My husband and I scrimp and save all year to get over to Wales to see our family (and have our grandchildren over to stay with us a night or two) only to find a disgusting house. If we could put minus points we would. The house was exceptionally overpriced. BUT THE WORST THING OF ALL WAS THAT THERE WERE RATS - YES THAT'S WHAT I SAID - RATS!!!!

Fantastic

We are an active family of 5 and the house suited us perfectly'. The house was fully furnished and in great condition and location! Gavin the owner was excellent and on call if we needed anything at all which we didn't. If we go to south wales again we will definitely book this property before going anywhere else! Can't fault this property at all. 👍👍

Great location for Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon Beacons, only 30 mins from Cardiff, handy shop across the road, and train station, has everything you need and good WiFi and washing machine
