Le Domaine de Prin

Let me begin by summing things up: the Domaine de Prin is an experience not to be missed. We expected it to be lovely and it was. But that doesn’t quite capture it. The renovation of the house and grounds is truly spectacular. From the moment the gates swung open we were bowled over by the setting and, as important, by the unfailing hospitality we found. We were warmly welcomed and cosseted throughout our stay. Each morning we were served an extensive and delicious breakfast in the sunny dining room. We then took a morning walk around the grounds with Oslo and Romeo, the residents canines who were just as friendly as our hosts. We visited Janet, the “wild” boar, the sheep and the curious donkeys. The location of the Domaine is ideal for visiting many (many) small champagne producers, as well as Reims (worth a visit) and Epernay (not so much). Our hosts made excellent restaurant recommendations (try Coq et Vins, nearby) and one day we just picked up bread and cheese (and wine!) and had a picnic en terrasse. The room was large and exceedingly comfortable, with a gorgeous view of the grounds. At the end of the day it was the generous hospitality that made the most lasting impression. I could go on but will end by saying that our stay at the Domaine de Prin was the highlight of our many week of travel through France and Italy. I can’t wait to return.

10/10 would recommend the property. It has recently been fully restored and is in pristine condition. The rooms and the grounds are beautiful and Carla was so lovely and hospitable. I would 100% come back for another visit.
