The villa ‘Il Poggetto’, surrounded by old olive groves, is on a hill with a panoramic view of the Finale Ligure Pia. It is 1.8km from the centre and consists of eight apartments of various sizes, which are either at garden level or on the first floor. The villa also has an enclosed parking area for eight cars and a shed for bicycles.
The garden of around 2000m² is in a typical Ligurian terraced style and has a wealth of flowers, fruit trees such as lemons, oranges, tangerines, apricots, figs, kiwi and plums. You can prepare specialities on the grill in the pool area, using aromatic herbs from the garden (such as rosemary, thyme, marjoram, sage, mint, lavender and basil) and the simple recipes provided, and then enjoy meals outdoors in the evening around the cast-iron table.
The swimming pool (8 x 16 metres) in an infinity pool style is disinfected with UV lamps and fitted with a solar-heated shower. You can enjoy a wonderful panorama here, surrounded by water, from the open sea to the craggy Ligurian coast. You can sunbathe and relax in peace and quiet, with deckchairs and parasols provided on the large sunny terrace around the pool.
We have also thought of our youngest guests. In the area between the car park and the swimming pool you can find a swing, a slide and a Wendy house with a little table and chairs.
Some apartments feature balconies or terraces with a panoramic view, others look out over the garden or terrace (with terracotta tiles) with a view of the lake, and provide a teak table, chairs and a parasol.
If you prefer swimming in the sea, you can walk to the beaches if you follow the panoramic country road that leads directly to San Donato (800m). About 100 metres from the villa there is the old village “Borgo del Monte” and from there until the Manie plateau you can discover typical restaurants and family-run farms (agriturismi) where you can enjoy the best Ligurian cuisine with fresh ingredients from the garden. The surroundings are very popular among mountain bikers. Several bike shuttles, about 15 trails and Italian dolce vita will entice you out into the surrounding region.
