Lovely stay in a very nice cottage

Nice clean cottage with everything you could need. Great that they have shared leisure facilities on site. Staff communication was excellent and they were all very helpful. It was also very convenient that there is a nice pub over the road to eat at.

Amazing, just right for family and friends to get away

Warmth, comfort and feel of the place was fab! The fact that it was warm when we arrived was lovely! Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt and pepper in pots were an excellent addition

We had a lovely relaxing time staying here.

It was beautifully furnished and clean and had everything you needed for a great stay. Although the cottages were close it seemed very private and peaceful.The location was perfect for visiting the nearby towns or exploring the countryside around and just a short walk to Carsington Water. The pool and games area was great We loved it!

Would be good to have a small tuck shop set up that sells local produce and bbq bits milk eggs ect and maybe extending the pool closing time to 8pm so after a day out the kids can go in the pool when we get back.

Great stay, beautiful location, would definitely recommend

I loved the access to the swimming pool and the cottage itself. It was very well equipped with an iron and hairdryer. First impressions of the cottage - very homely and welcoming which was a beautiful surprise. Me and my family really enjoyed our stay there. The kitchen has everything that we needed equipment wise and basic condiments for tea and coffee. The surroundings are beautiful like a little fairy tale, just ideal for hiking and going on long relaxing walks. Such a gem of a location very accessible and loading and unloading was made very easy. We will definitely be planning another stay here.

A few things that were not so great but not deal breaking. There was not a clock in the cottage so we had to keep looking at our phones to tell the time, a shame because the location was such a natural detox from technology (I would have really enjoyed the luxury of switching my phone off and not looking at it). We were a group of 8 and ran out of clean towels the day before we were due to leave. Luckily someone had bought a couple of towels with them so we were ok. We also ran out of toilet roll by the last day.... There doesn't seem to be a room service or cleaning service that tops up basic needs like toilet roll and clean towels but I have never stayed at a self catering accommodation before so I don't know if this is the norm. To counteract that what would have been good would have been clear instructions on what to do if we need anything or any of these things - I got a scanning barcode with generic accommodation information and opening times for an office between 10-4 I think I can't remember. Also I'm glad we bought plenty of our own food before hand as I found that when we got there everything was unavailable and delivery for food wasn't a great option - just eat didn't come up with anything the only take away option was in the welcome information and even they only delivered for a certain amount of food. If I ordered for one person which I tried to order for two they declined the delivery saying it wasn't enough food for them to come out to your location which I found disappointing. The town doesn't seem so far we had our own cars for transport which was good but I'm heavily pregnant so for the first day or two found it very difficult to go anywhere because of my own exhaustion - it would have been nice to just order some food in for me.

Great value for lovely accommodation, perfect for a mixed group, great site facilities.

The variety of cottages meant our group of 12 could stay in 3 different cottages as a group of 6, 3 and 3. The furnishings in each property was cosy. Having a kitchen with oven, fridge/freezer and microwave meant we didn't have to always eat out. The indoor pool was a bonus and the kids loved it. There was also an on site playground for the kids. It was really quiet even with other groups staying in the other cottages.

Immaculately clean, great communication, lovely spacious, cosy cottages. Great facilities, pool, games room laundry. Excellent location, pub, cafe and restaurant all within a short walk. Carsington water across the road for water sports. Would thoroughly recommend.

Family friendly brilliant find

Staff very friendly and facilities are fantastic especially if you have children, the pool was amazing and very clean, table tennis and pool table in a lovely space, there’s a large outdoor play area and field big enough for the children to play and run around safely in, BBQ areas which we used and were great, the pub over the road was brilliant with good food and the cottages are not far from so many local attractions for all ages. I would recommend these lovely cottages for a lovely break away.

Gorgeous property and facilities, perfect for a young family

It was a lovely cottage, very clean and had everything we needed. The grounds were gorgeous and the pool was perfect. It was beyond our expectations.

The only comment I could make was the bed was a bit hard.

Lovely relaxing stay but very hot and humid

Location was great. Loved the pool and cottage was very cute. Booking and host communication was great.

It was a hot weekend and the windows downstairs wouldn't open were almost fused shut. The back bedroom with the skylight was roasting and the people in there did not sleep well. Could do with air con or a fan? No water pressure in shower meant washing hair took ages.could do with taxi numbers etc in welcome pack. A couple with a baby came out complaining as 3 groups were quietly talking on the courtyard at 11pm in the hot weather. They obviously had their windows open. Nobody had music on but there was a large group of girls. It cant be helped people chatting. We were not being loud at all but it made one group have to go inside which spoiled the relaxing vibe. Maybe put people with babies out the way? The bed was very hard and 2 people had bad backs.

Beautiful location, everything you need for a ln idyllic holiday

A great place to stay for families. The pool and games room are fab and there’s plenty of outside space with beautiful views. Great that there are BBQs—we enjoyed a couple on the warm evenings we had. The cottage was perfect—well equipped, comfy and cosy.

The mattresses are on the firmer side which my partner loved but if you like a softer mattress you might be a little uncomfortable!

The location was idyllic. The pool was a great bonus. It was calm, quiet, restful, spacious and welcoming. Lots of parking, close to Carsington Water. I really enjoyed my stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and well furnished.

Views over the meadow, proximity to the pub, games room, easy to reach lots of different parts of the peak district. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen.

A hot tub in the swimming pool area / individual outdoor ones for some of the properties would be very popular for sore legs after walking. Smart TV to watch Netflix etc would be good.

Stunning cottages, immaculate grounds and fab pool! A must.

As we drove in we were absolutely over the moon with how stunning this place was presented. Gorgeous, manicured and lit beautifully. And great pub next door!

I did see a review saying about the pillows. They are too firm and we all found them a bit uncomfortable which was a shame. It would be so nice if they could provide a softer pillow for those who need it.

Lovely timber beam property with scenic child friendly surroundings

Foodie pub with nice play area across the road (bit upmarket though). Play area was ok, swimming pool was great standard. Games room was cosy and clean. Plenty of instant tea and coffee and milk provided. Clean comfy beds. Toilet rolls, towels and linens, TV with dvd player (no dvds) provided. Fridge/freezer, oven, hobs, kettle, microwave, well stocked kitchen supplies all available, all stored in Hairdryer and lots of storage in bedrooms.

Swimming pool didn't open on time, we were unable to go on our last day as a result. House had quite a few ants - to be expected in the countryside or unreasonable? No shower/bath products (which is not a problem, just worth being aware of).
