Knockerdown Cottages

We stayed in the middleton block. It is a lovely little place with a cosy feel to it. A nice pub opposite with a good menu. The swimming pool was a good size for our young kids to play which was also clean and warm.

The sound proofing is of a poor standard, we could hear absolutely everything from the outside road traffic flying past to the next door blocks conversations The beds and pillows are rock solid. The showers have zero to no pressure. The velux black out blind did not shut properly not blocking out the light. The other bedroom blinds did not shut out the light as poorly fitted. Meaning as soon as the sun came out, the room was very bright. The bedrooms in my opinion are round the wrong way. The two twin beds which are a small size, were in the large bedroom and the double bed was in the small room making moving around and wardrobe space minimal. The games room area was a nice little touch but the table tennis table was damaged and you was being charged £1 to play either pool or the football table.

Amazing accommodation to host a big family holiday, beautifully restored stone cottages in lovely surroundings. Nice pool and play area for the kids and communal BBQs with plenty of picnic benches. Easy parking and access to local sights.

Middleton cottage; The shower pressure was very low, just a dribble. No dishwasher.

Good range of activities- table tennis , swimming , play area , pool , table football, large outdoor play area , BBQ etc

I think it’s poor that they charge for use of the pool table and football table - these should be free to use . Some of the decor / furnishings could do with refurbishment.
