Smelt damp, very poky.

The location and host were lovely. But, the shower would not turn on, the floor boards were all separating, and the place smelled of curry and mould.

The host was trying his best. But the place needs a bit of care. Little bits need to be done. The iron and shower didn't work. Luckily there was a bath.

Very old chalet ,not updated since it was built ,old doors ,old bathroom ,peeling wallpaper ,tiny tv ,went for a drink but it was an old bar with old dart board and just a pool table ,no clubhouse, nowhere for grandson to play football ,just a swimming pool and small park ,only used it as a base ,went to folly farm one day and manor park and beach next day ,so only used for sleeping .owner lovely, but this chalet needs a total refurbishment ! I paid cheaper to go on a mini cruise in April to Belgium for a weekend, all meals included !

NOTHING! Terrible Experience - Do NOT Book! After a 4-hour drive, we arrived to what was easily the worst accommodation we've ever stayed in - and we’ve booked many places through Booking.com over the years. We weren’t expecting luxury, but for the price paid, we did expect basic cleanliness and functionality. Instead, what we got was appalling. The smell inside was unbearable. It seemed like the carpets hadn’t been cleaned in decades, and parts of them were missing entirely in the bedroom. The furniture was extremely old - so worn that the leather on the sofa was completely destroyed, making it unusable. The cushion covers looked like they hadn’t been washed since the 1980s.

The worst part? The beds. I was traveling with my elderly father, who couldn't get any sleep because the mattresses were so old you could feel the springs poking through. When we raised this concern, the host replied dismissively, saying, "We can’t cater to all preferences. Since you he did sleep, I assume it wasn’t that bad." That response was deeply offensive and dismissive - especially after we paid full price for this. Also the bed covers were very old and sticky - we had to put our clean clothes on top the covers to sleep - not a nice feeling at all! To make matters worse, there were no towels provided - we understand this was not ticked as amenity so our bad for not realising but in 2025, this is unacceptable. When mentioned this we were told we should have asked - I really don’t think he would had any - as my wife asked for a hair dryer and he just said he didn’t have it. We ended up leaving and didn’t stay the second night. Despite this, the host refused even a partial refund, showing no understanding or accountability. His responses were condescending and rude, even mocking us at times. When we pointed out the issues, he brushed them off by saying, “Some guests complain every now and then - I WONDER WHY? To anyone considering booking this place: DON’T - Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. This place is dirty, outdated, and the host's attitude is completely unprofessional. Truly a disgrace.

Ken was an exceptional host and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely visit again. Worth a second visit and more!

Location was beautiful Facilities inside were ok

No 63 Chalet smelt fousty , very dated . Very disappointed the outside space was not secure for our little dog . So could not let him out . Not given the codes for children’s play area , always locked .

Owner is very friendly nice place we felt really happy my kids enjoyed a lot
