Villa Ana Maria

The property is brilliantly located - just a 4-5 minute walk from the heart of Mijas Pueblo. It is set away from the main road and has spectacular views over the town and down to the sea in the distance. It is not overlooked and is very private. It has a supermarket at the bottom of the road leading up to the house, which was really useful. The house is roomy, comfortable and well equipped. We wanted for nothing. In addition to spacious bedrooms (the 3 we used were all en-suite) the house has a laundry room, where the pool towels are kept, and a comfortable lounge with large screen TV with Netflix. It was perfectly clean and the beds comfortable. The AC worked well making for a good nights' sleep. Whilst some of the decor might not be what we would have at home everything had its purpose and worked well, including the large sunken bath in the master bedroom suite. The hosts, Ana and Maria were super-helpful and saved the day when we locked ourselves out by accident. They had someone over in 10 minutes which was a godsend as we had a taxi waiting to take us to the airport. They were also very helpful with check-in and check-out times.

The road leading up to the house is rather steep but its a price worth paying for the convenience of the location. The astroturf around the pool is showing signs of age but the pool is delightful and there is a good range of poolside furniture.

Location was brilliant. Views were incredible. Pleanty of space.

The pool needed a good clean to such an extent that it couldn’t be used on the last two days of our stay. Although reported, maintenance failed to turn up. It didn’t ruin the holiday but was a real shame.

When we got to the villa we received a lovely welcome from Maria. The views from the villa were absolutely mind blowing. The villa was also lovely and homely. We had a family of 8 and it was more than functional. The location is also perfect!

I hired a car for the week and when returning to the villa each time the drive way was blocked. Obviously this is out of the villa owners control. The drive way is also unbelievably steep.

The location was excellent

We had no hot water for 3 days the host was contacted but nothing was done Quite a few of the appliances were in need of updating ie toaster that only worked if you held down the button the pool shower didn’t work due to a leak on the unit on arrival we were told the cleaning was €80 and €400 for breakages but at end was told cleaning was €180 this may have been a language barrier problem the one toilet in the downstairs bedroom didn’t work and continuesly flushed all day upon arrival there was no remote for fans on contacting the host I was told the children may have hidden it and needed to look for it myself
