Hotel Villa Annalara charme and relax

The location is up the hill on the main street of Amalfi. It's a restricted traffic area, but if you're staying at the hotel you're allowed to drive through. During the day, when there are more people walking around, the entrance to the street may be temporarily fenced off with a "pedestrians only" fence - but you just need to tell the traffic controller you're heading to the hotel and give its name, and they'll let you through. It's a fun experience squeezing through a street full of shoppers with a car. Walking to and from the beach, the gradient is mild and very walkable, even during a heatwave. There's a parking garage (Laudano) 100m from the door with superb service, costing 40 euros for 24 hours - or 5 euros per hour if you want to stay longer on the check-out day. The hotel itself is very cozy; it's a magical journey through the gardens and underground passages to the lift that takes you up to the hillside. It is truly an experience. As the hotel locates at the very end of the main shopping street you can also enjoy lower prices for the souvenirs and pizzas or beverages in the last pizzeria on the street.

The room could have been a bit more spacious for 4, but on the plus side, the 2 additional beds were solid and comfortable. As other reviewers mentioned, the shower water tends to flow out toward the room in some cases. That said, it seems to be a user-specific issue: 2 of our 4 had trouble with it. A small lip on the shower floor would help prevent this.

Staff were very friendly, the view was amazing as it was very high up but lucky it has the option with stairs or lift
