* By car, for example from Bern or Lucerne to Spiez, then on to Kandersteg; load your car onto the car train through the Lötschberg Tunnel for a 15-minute ride to Goppenstein, south of the Alps. Continue your journey through the magical Lötschental valley; after another 10 minutes, you’ll arrive in Wiler, at the lower station of the Lauchernalp gondola.
* By train from Bern without changing trains in less than 2 hours and through the same tunnel to Goppenstein; from there, with a good bus connection, in another 10 minutes directly to Wiler in the Lötschental at the lower station of the aerial cableway.
* The Lauchernalp gondola operates year-round, but more frequently in winter during peak season. See https://www.loetschental.ch/de/bergbahnen/fahrplan. Tickets are discounted with the SBB Half-Fare Card or the Lötschental Guest Card; with the Guest Card, they are generally free in summer.
* In summer, you can drive directly up to Lauchernalp on a paved road. A parking permit can be purchased via the ParkingPay app or at the lower station of the gondola for CHF 35 per week. You can then park for free, for example right in front of the house—ideally on the gravel lot south of the entrance—or elsewhere in the designated AlpineVillage parking lots on Lauchernalp.
