About this house rental

The perfect "lake time" getaway guest house. Walking distance to Justice 2 cafe. 4 miles to the town of Battle Lake. My family has owned property and have been coming to this lake for 3 generations. We love this area so much that we just had to buy this place so we could share one of the cleanest and best lakes in Minnesota. Its sits on 2 acres with 300' lake shore. This unique lot has that "awe I am here" hill side view of the lake, but then it slopes just perfectly to the water, giving you an amazing private beach setting that you can just hang out at all day. Huge cotton wood tree branches hang over the water creating an oasis of shade for you to float under and for fish to hide. Just cast out and pull them in. Push the canoe or kayak out and paddle around. Fire pit, picnic table, dock, canoe and kayak included. Plenty of yard room for outdoor games (Corn hole game in the small shed).
The home has been updated with new carpet, flooring, fixtures, paint, back deck and covered patio, new BBQ grill.
We take home rental business seriously. This home will be thoroughly cleaned top to bottom for each renter. Thoughtful features like, beach towels, kids toys, games, duvet covers, mattress and pillow protectors. good soap, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap. There is central air, or you can open the windows. Each bedroom has a window with a lake view. Water softener system.
Check out the amazing history of the original settlers on this very land.
* * * Why are we called the Blue Loon??? We participate in the Clitherall Lake Association Loon preservation project. Each Spring we place a Loon habitat about 30 feet off our shore, and in fall we take it out. * * * We hope to help foster a Loon family every year. * * *

We were VERY happy with the 5-day lake vacation that we spent in the Blue Loon Lake House. Theresa was waiting at the house to welcome us and spent 30 minutes showing us around the house, the beach, and describing all of the amenities available (canoe, 2 Kayaks, fishing poles, life jackets, beach toys, etc.). The house was extremely clean and well equipped with kitchen necessities and gas BBQ grill on the deck. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The beach and the dock were well maintained, and the lake was clear and beautiful, with great shallow areas for the kids to play in. The lake itself was clear, clean, and very refreshing. We enjoyed making smores in the fire pit. We had a wonderful time and plan on returning with the kids and grandkids again next year!

Loved that it was near Battle Lake and the little coffee shop to grab ice cream and lunch! Use of floaties, towels were a HUGE bonus since I forgot those things. We were able to tie our boat to the dock this year because of the higher water which was also very very nice. Was able to fish and swim off the dock--sitting by the fire to watch our daughter (who has disabilities) was a bonus. Layout of the cabin itself was fantastic.

This is a great, quiet lake getaway and I highly recommend it! Very clean and the yard is large for running around in. The beach is clean and Clitherall Lake is very clean. Lots to do in the area if you are unfamiliar.

We were traveling with our 2 year old, 4 year old, and 6 year old, and this house/property was perfect for our family. It’s on 2 acres and the grass is very well maintained. Plenty of room to throw a frisbee, football, play wiffle ball, etc. and a lot of these games are at the house already. There were some board games and card games at the house as well that were great for the kids. The house was plenty big for our family of 5. Our 3 kids slept together in the bunk bed room, so we ended up with an extra bedroom we didn’t even really use! The pictures don’t really do the living room justice. It’s bigger than it looks. We played on the floor in the living room with the kids as a retreat from the sun during the day. The kitchen is well stocked and you have beautiful views of the lake from all rooms of the house. It’s about a 10 second walk to get down to the water where there’s a sandy beach area for the kids to play in, a dock to walk out on, chairs, and a storage bin with life vests and floats. There are some big trees around this area that provide great shade during the afternoon. The water is plenty warm enough to play in (we were there in July) and the kids LOVED chasing around the minnows and catching them. The water where you enter the lake is very shallow for hundreds of feet out into the lake. My 6 year old walked probably 100’ out and the water was barely above her waist. The bottom of the lake where the kids are playing is a soft, sandy bottom, very easy on their feet and no need to wear shoes. The kids jumped off the dock into very shallow water, and enjoyed swimming around. We were happy it was a safe environment so we didn’t have to worry about them “getting into a deep end” or anything like that. My 4 year old was also playing here without a life vest and only our 2 year old was wearing floaters just as a precaution. Some things we did in the area were almost nightly trips to Granny’s Pantry, which is a local ice cream/candy/fudge shop in Battle Lake about 4.5 miles away. There is also a cookie dough bar right next door that’s a good spot as well! In this same area, there is a Dollar General and a supermarket that sell all the groceries and things you could possibly need. It was very convenient having these stores less than 10 minutes away. There are also a few restaurants in this area, but we mostly ate at the house. Also, there is a local coffee shop right at the front of the property; a 20 second walk.
