Marina Sand Residence

We were contacted before arrival by our excellent host Andre. We were arriving before check in time but he was good enough to meet us early. We were able to leave suitcases at the apartment whilst it was being cleaned and to park the car in an allocated space. Andre gave us lots of helpful information about the local area and was available during our stay should we have needed to contact him. The apartment is very special! The colours, finish, comfort and attention to small details is just excellent. Towels were changed during our 5 night stay too. And then you have the view!! Such a wonderful position to enjoy the comings and goings of the marina. It really was quite difficult to leave the terrace!! We enjoyed the swimming pool also and the close proximity to all the excellent bars and restaurants on the marina. We really couldn’t have wished for more 😊

I loved the fact there was a bath but if you have mobility issues you may struggle to take a shower as it is over the bath.

The marina area felt safe, although busy during the day I liked the buzz and we could switch it off as we were above it all, literally. All quietened down 10:30/11pm. Heard no noise in the apartment. Kids really enjoyed the pool and teenagers could walk down to supermarket themselves. Spotlessly clean apartment, had everything we needed and lovely views. Mid week cleaner a treat. Andre was superb at check in. Easy pick up point outside for Uber/Bolt. Tuk Tuk's for a fun ride to old town or 20 min walk (uphill).

My request for early check in/luggage storage was acknowledged on messages at the time of booking however on the day of arrival, there was no prior knowledge by local staff. Andre was however just amazing and sorted everything but it caused myself, and probably him, a period of stress I didn't need when travelling on my own with 3 kids after a really early start. All worked out fine. Would suggest if you request anything on arrival times to double check it closer to arrival time.

Excellent location within the marina in very close proximity to the bars and restaurants on the waterfront. The apartment itself was absolutely lovely and very comfortable. Will definitely be booking again in the future. The shutter over the bedroom window is a fantastic idea and blocks out all daylight.
