Host & Stay - Bluebell Cottage

Beautiful little cottage in such a quiet location, but ideal for us as we needed to be based in Bamburgh for several nights (my partner was in a 100 mile race from Bamburgh to Edinburgh). Lovely comfortable bed. Cosy accommodation. Wonderful shower.

I felt the kitchen could be a little better equipped - only 2 'normal' wine glasses and they were different sizes, limited amount of cutlery which was not very strong. A teapot would have been nice. I also felt that a small supply of kitchen roll, washing up liquid (there was some but I think a previous guest had left that), a washing up sponge (no dishwasher so washing up by hand) - generally I felt the price we paid might have included some basic items such as these. Also, the weighing scales and one of the TV remotes had flat batteries. We had no information about recycling although once I had located the bins in the grounds, it became clear what could be recycled and where. Some shower gell, shampoo and soap in the bathroom would have been nice too - to accompany the lovelly bath towels and fabulous shower.

It was in the countryside, very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Just utterly let down by the management of Host and Stay. Will come again to this area but never again with a Host and Stay property. A real shame but not worth the hassle.

Property management experience. *warning* They take a £250 bond that I had to chase to get back - and a £10 admin fee that you don't get back at all! You have to do an online ID check required beforehand, but link didnt work - no support on that. Being bombarded with messages and emails and texts but all automated so nothing helpful, no human interaction. Code for the keys was sent a few hours before we arrived not 7 days as they said it would. We booked for longer initially then reduced the days. We amended the booking very quickly but it took ages to finally get the difference back. Booked through booking.com but there was no automatic refund. Had to ring and chase Host and Stay who had to "send an email to finance" before getting it back. Also as others have said Wifi is so poor to the point that they shouldn't advertise as having any.
