Cozy cabin with an exceptional view of the Northern Lights

This is a cozy place for a solo trip, especially if your main goal is to chase the Northern Lights. For me, the most interesting—and challenging—part was lighting the fireplace every day. It’s not so easy for someone born and raised in a city who has never had the chance to try it before, but it was absolutely worth it. As for the Northern Lights, there’s a lake right in front of the cabin that feels like your own private viewpoint. It’s wide open, with zero light pollution, so you don’t need to drive anywhere else to see it. During my four-night stay, I was lucky enough to see it every single night, which was truly amazing!

The bath towel was clearly very clean, but it had a slight odor. Luckily, I brought my own, so it wasn't a big problem for me.

A private hut by the pond

Sauna and swimming in the lake were great. Owners are friendly and helpful. Beautiful place, privacy - own little area around the hut. Running water despite it being a hut. Internet worked well. Good heater inside, and beds were good too.

Toilet is outside - it was not very clearly written on booking, so we thought it was inside, as the shlwer was inside. And the toilet itself was a bag placed in a bucket, so it felt a bit awekward to go there, knowing that it will be cleaned by other people..

Great natures all to yourself

You'll have the natural beauty of the marsh all to yourself. The wood-burning stove and wood-burning sauna make for a comfortable stay. Hot water is available from the tap, which is convenient. The kitchen is well-equipped. The bio-toilet was clean.

While there's good cell phone reception, the built-in Wi-Fi didn't work. The cottage cannot be accessed by car; you'll need to walk down a gentle staircase about 50 meters from the parking lot. Still, I highly recommend it.

Wonderful

Wonderful nice little cottage by its own in the woods by a little lake. Firewood, sauna, shower, nice clean linen included, private nice little outdoor-toilet right behind. What a nice suprise!

Surrounded by nature

If you’re looking for a rustic getaway, this is your place. As the title says - it’s a cabin on a working husky farm in the middle of the forest and overlooking a lake. It’s pretty compact - two single beds and a small two ring stove on a tiny worktop plus a fridge - although this being Finland there’s also a sauna in a separate room. There’s also a shower and a sink. The loo is round the back in a separate building and is the compostable type. Was very clean. There’s a space for a campfire outside and you’re far enough away from the owner’s house to get that sense of being surrounded by nature. It’s not luxurious but that’s not why you choose a place like this. It’s also very cheap for the area

Some of the bedding smelled slightly funky. Also the curtains didn’t do much to block out the 24 hour sunlight - but then that’s not unusual here 🙂

What a beautiful experience to spend time with 42 huskies!!! The hut provides all the basics and privacy and acess to lake. Perfect to cool down after sauna!

Excellent experience, extremely positive feedback

Extremely positive feedback, extremely hospitable host (French), extremely good memories. The loghouse is located in the forest at the shore of a small lake. We arrived with intention to stay one night only and to continue exploring Lapland, but we immediately prolonged our stay + one day. The property is located next to a husky farm, which is the main winter business of the host. BBQ area next to the house. Genuine sauna (on wood) inside, steam bath as well, whatever you prefer. We were provided with timber for the sauna for free, we also participated while the hosts were feeding the dogs. My 8 yo daughter really enjoyed it. Real Lappish experience.

Exciting, I would do it again tomorrow

For a holiday immersed in nature this is the perfect place, you have to adapt for certain things but for everything else it is worth it. The owners are wonderful people always ready to give you advice on travel. A great experience was also looking after the dogs helping the owners during the day. From our location we were able to do many things including seeing a beautiful northern lights. This is a trip that I would do again immediately, summer or winter I think that Cabin at the huskies farm is the perfect place to live a real Lappish experience.

The french(!) host is a very pleasant guy. The cottage is well equiped, even with a sauna, and romanticaly located near a small lake.

Marvelous place

Wonderful place. You could say - PARADISE with private lake in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to the owner we feed husky dogs. The host rents only one cottage hut in his property.

The couple we booked the cabin from was so nice and helpful and warm! The place was amazing next to a beautiful pond and we could just enjoy the nature privately. The couple who we booked the cabin owns a husky farm and the dogs were so beautiful and amazing! They let us come with them to feed the dogs and it was so interesting and cool to see the dogs closely! We loved our whole stay there! Amazing and such a nice place, dogs and people! We loved every minute.

Very enjoyable indeed!!

The cabin is in a wonderful location beside a small lake in the forest. It is very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I appreciated the opportunity to see the huskies being fed and to to pet them, especially the puppies. Breakfast was an excellent combination of Finnish and French.

La posizione è molto bella e tranquilla, in prossimità di un laghetto in totale serenità. Host molto gentile e disponibile, allevatore di cani hasky, tanti, belli e non fastidiosi. Casetta piccola, ma completa. Bagno a secco privato dietro casa comodo. Sauna all'interno disponibile. Ristoranti nelle vicinanze molto buoni. Zanzare presenti (metà agosto), ma senza grossi problemi.
