The Layout:
Make the most of your time in Steamboat Springs by settling into this beautiful condo mere steps from the base of Steamboat Ski Resort. Between the gas fireplace in the living room, the outdoor balcony, and the on-site hot tub and barbecue area at Ptarmigan House, you'll have ample places to relax. Return home after a day of hiking, mountain biking, skiing, or snowboarding to prepare a home-cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen and bring a glass of wine out to the balcony afterwards. When the stars begin to come out and the mountain air turns chilly, come inside to gather around the fire, break out a board game, or find a movie to watch on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV.
The Bedrooms:
This condo has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, a twin sofabed, and an en suite bathroom; the second bedroom, located on the other side of the living space from the master bedroom, has a pair of twin beds and an en suite bathroom. There's a queen-size sofabed in the living room as well.

The Ptarmigan House Condominiums enjoy a ski-in/ski-out location just south of Gondola Square, allowing you to stroll (or ski) to the main base area at Steamboat Ski Resort each morning to hop on board the gondola or the Christie Peak Express. On the grounds of Ptarmigan House, you'll have access to a community outdoor hot tub to soothe your legs after a day of skiing, as well as a shared gas grill for afternoon barbecues all summer.
Winter activities:
Steamboat Ski Resort is immediately north of this complex, offering 18 lifts, 169 trails, and 2,965 skiable acres across Mt. Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge, and Christie Peak. After a day of skiing or snowboarding, you can soak in one of the area's famous hot springs, which include the Old Town Hot Springs (three miles northwest) and Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs (10 miles north), both of which are open in summer as well. Spend a day snowshoeing, cross-country skiing at the Haymaker Nordic Center (two miles south), or perusing the charming shops, restaurants, and galleries that await in downtown Steamboat Springs (three miles northwest).
Summer activities:
In the warmer months, Steamboat Ski Resort transforms into a hub of hiking and mountain biking, with 30 miles of cross-country mountain bike and multi-use trails on Mt. Werner alone. Take a scenic gondola ride, tee off at the Haymaker Golf Course (two miles south), or book an excursion with Steamboat Zipline Adventures (six miles south). You'll be less than a mile from an access point to the Yampa River Core Trail, a 7.5-mile paved, multi-use trail that runs along the river to the heart of downtown, allowing you to stop mid-way to explore the Yampa River Botanic Park with its beautiful ponds and sculptures.

This condo is very convenient if you’re skiing. Very close to the slopes and gondola. The condo is clean and has plenty of space. It is on the first floor, so we could hear people above us on a couple of occasions. Otherwise it’s a very quiet setting. Staff at the property are courteous and very helpful. The nice surprise is the Vacasa shuttle bus.

Condo was impeccably clean and all beds were very comfy.
Couch is old and broken down a bit. Always having to rearrange cushions as they are constantly sliding out.
Kitchen pots/pans were lacking.
Id also suggest putting cushions on the corners of the master bedroom bed legs. I bashed my shin no fewer than 6x on them. Finally, (2) small night stands in MBR would be nice.
All in all, a great place.... just lacking in a few simple to fix areas.

The location is great. Close enough to walk to everything in the square and easily ski in/out. The unit is spacious.
Some of the specifics regarding the unit could be improved upon. I didn't love the condition of the couch. It's cushions are spilling over from over use. A few of the soap dispensers were empty. The sheets were like sleeping on a towel - kind of rough.
I give this unit a 4/5. The location is excellent and it's a decent value. However, some of the details inside the unit need attention.
