The Layout:
Experience the very best of Steamboat Springs at this luxurious, two-story condo with ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes of Steamboat Ski Resort. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by an open-concept living area with exposed beam ceilings, a gas fireplace with a flatscreen TV mounted to its stone hearth, and an access point to the first private balcony. The rich furnishings continue in the gourmet kitchen, offering stainless steel appliances, gorgeous countertops for easy meal prep, and a peninsula breakfast bar with plentiful seating for your sous chefs. After a beautiful day spent skiing, snowboarding, hiking, or soaking in the local hot springs, you can retire to the property's shared outdoor hot tub, get dinner going on the community gas grill, or retire to the media room upstairs for a movie or a game on the Nintendo Wii system. Bring an evening cocktail outside to one of the two balconies, or snag a bit of alone time in the master bathroom's jetted tub.
The Bedrooms:
At night, you'll have three bedrooms to choose from. On the first floor of the condo is a bedroom with a king-size bed and a full bathroom in the hallway with a stall shower. Head upstairs to find the master suite, featuring a king-size bed, a flatscreen TV, and a private bathroom with a jetted bathtub and a stall shower. Also on this level are a third bedroom with a twin-over-queen bunk bed and a private balcony, and a third bathroom with a stall shower.

The Ptarmigan House Condominiums enjoy a ski-in/ski-out location just south of Gondola Square, allowing you to stroll (or ski) to the main base area at Steamboat Ski Resort each morning to hop on board the gondola or the Christie Peak Express. On the grounds of Ptarmigan House, you'll have access to a community outdoor hot tub to soothe your legs after a day of skiing, as well as a shared gas grill for afternoon barbecues all summer.
Winter activities:
Steamboat Ski Resort is immediately north of this complex, offering 18 lifts, 169 trails, and 2,965 skiable acres across Mt. Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge, and Christie Peak. After a day of skiing or snowboarding, you can soak in one of the area's famous hot springs, which include the Old Town Hot Springs (three miles northwest) and Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs (10 miles north), both of which are open in summer as well. Spend a day snowshoeing, cross-country skiing at the Haymaker Nordic Center (two miles south), or perusing the charming shops, restaurants, and galleries that await in downtown Steamboat Springs (three miles northwest).
Summer activities:
In the warmer months, Steamboat Ski Resort transforms into a hub of hiking and mountain biking, with 30 miles of cross-country mountain bike and multi-use trails on Mt. Werner alone. Take a scenic gondola ride, tee off at the Haymaker Golf Course (two miles south), or book an excursion with Steamboat Zipline Adventures (six miles south). You'll be less than a mile from an access point to the Yampa River Core Trail, a 7.5-mile paved, multi-use trail that runs along the river to the heart of downtown, allowing you to stop mid-way to explore the Yampa River Botanic Park with its beautiful ponds and sculptures.

The location is absolutely great for ski! The building staff is excellent, super attentive and friendly. The building is great and the hot tub is fantastic!... Apartment 30 is good but could use just a little TLC.

Overall great place! Only Problem is walking path to base has giant snow mountain do walk over but no control due to amount of snow! Also check in wasn’t ready at 4! But no big deal! Loved it!

The house was not exactly same as pictures... cabinets much darker, couches not leather( tho the couches were fine....just not what was pictured) the fan that should be in the hi ceiling living room is actually a lower ceiling with no fan at all. Windows were extremely hard to open( no a/c) so you need windows that function properly.( one window on first floor bedroom almost fell off hinge so we had to keep it closed for our whole stay) .......the house was clean, new rugs upstairs, beds were comfortable, had all the things you need to feel comfortable (except a/c..... upstairs master bedroom has no windows so did get warm, thank god for ceiling fan) kitchen had plenty of storage for wine, ice maker, food, gas stove worked great as did exhaust which is needed cause smoke detector close bye. Master bath shower does not seal properly and water leaks onto floor, needed to place towel inside to prevent leakage. Don’t want to sound to harsh cause we did have plenty of room for the 6 of us, but I do expect pictures to represent the “place” correctly.( even stove picture not accurate).....
