Summary:
An original Ligurian marble sink still in place in the kitchen — a rare authentic detail — sets the tone at La Casa di Eio, in the heart of Vernazza. 65 sqm, second floor, sleeps up to 4.
The Space:
Spacious living and dining room. Kitchen with an original Ligurian marble sink, compact induction hob and Nespresso machine. Generous double bedroom with a romantic alcove, period furniture and restored portraits. A small additional room with a sofa. Bathroom conveniently close to the communal areas. No air conditioning, but the historic building stays cool thanks to natural ventilation and ceiling fans. Washing machine (no dryer).
Guest Access:
Second floor, no lift. Exclusive access to the flat, right next to our concierge office.
The Neighborhood:
On Vernazza's main street: restaurants, shops, beaches and the train station all a short walk away.
Getting Around:
The train station is a few minutes' walk. Public car park above the village for drivers (about 1,200 metres from the pedestrian area), shuttle and a short walk to our office (about 5 minutes).
Other Things to Note:
We leave a few breakfast basics in the kitchen for your first morning — croissants, biscuits, jam, tea, coffee, portioned powdered milk and sugar — plus our award-winning extra virgin olive oil from a local producer whose mill and honey production can be visited on one of our experiences, salt and washing-up liquid, and washing machine/dishwasher pods where fitted. Bed and bath linen included with shower gel, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. Professional cleaning throughout.

Our concierge office in Vernazza is open 9:30am-7:00pm from 1 March to 31 October; outside this period the office is closed, with presence available on request. We're always happy to welcome guests staying in any of the other villages too, whether for a quick hello or for advice on local experiences and activities.

Interaction with Guests:
Assisted check-in 3:00pm–7:00pm; late check-in 7:00pm–10:00pm, with a €50 supplement only if assisted check-in is requested: past this hour car parks close, night trains are rare and often delayed or cancelled, and the villages fall quiet with no one around who could really help anyway. Small dogs welcome for a supplement, on a lead in communal areas including stairs and garden, not on beds or sofas. Heating switched off from 1 April to 8 November.

Apartment is very close to train. The management company is right next door - very kind and helpful. The apartment is very large and is clean and well supplied. We did not understand how noisy it would be - it’s definitely right in the action. But if you typically stay up late and get up early - this wouldn’t be a problem. And obviously you can hear the trains - but that’s to be expected. Lastly, we really wanted a kitchen to make some of our own meals. We picked this place specifically because the property description has a picture of a four burner stove and oven. When we got there - she said none of that worked and there was just a hot plate. Disappointing. We did use the washer several times and that was great!

A perfect day for our family.

We were here in the busiest, hottest part of August (temperatures at 90F/32C). The listing clearly says there is no air-conditioning, so we knew we wouldn’t have it, but know that the apartment doesn’t cool down much at night. There is a ceiling fan above the bed and a small table fan in the dining room, but they do little. The apartment is on the main street near the train station, which is wonderfully convenient, but at night with the windows open, the street noise and passing trains are incredibly loud. We wore earplugs and were still woken up every time a train passed. The heat and the noise aren’t a fault with the apartment, it’s just something to consider depending on your noise and heat tolerance. The apartment itself is spacious, but quirky with a strange jumble of furniture and grandmother decor. There’s good water pressure and hot water, and having a washing machine was wonderful! They even provided clips so you could hang your clothes out to dry outside (hang out the window!). The stairs up to the apartment are very steep and very narrow, so be prepared for that, too. It’s great for what it is: a quirky and somewhat odd place, in a beautiful old building with a good location.
