森のうた Morinouta Forest Stay in Nikko

We took the half board option where the food was plentiful and so delicious (local ingredients the trout was fresh and the wagyu steak perfect!) The private Onsen was a super bonus (located together with the bathroom shower area outside the bedrooms on the ground floor). Private toilets with wash basins are located inside the bedroom with folding doors to separate. Location was very close to the bus stop and 15mts by bus to the Tobu Nikko station Rooms are clean and comfortable Hosts went over and beyond to accommodate our family’s food requirements, late dinner served as we arrived late from airport, and even offered to drop us off at the train station as we had big lugagges!

Perfect stay!

Everything! Everything was lovely, from the owners to the facilities! The onsen was the highlight for me, nothing better to relax in it after a day in Nikko’s temples! And the food, oh my god! I’ve had the most amazing traditional Japanese food so far here! The Wagyu steak was delicious and you can also have some really local food like Yuba, for example. The owners were really lovely with me, they gave me a ride to the station on the morning of my leave. So nice!

Absolutely nothing!

I loved my stay here! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and personable, the room was large and clean with windows that open to the sounds of birds chirping and a great bathroom, and the private bath was a real treat. I liked the location, it is in a quiet area very near a bus station with frequent buses that go either east to Nikko Station & the main temples, or west to Lake Chuzenji. The 2 day unlimited bus pass was perfect for my plans for staying in this area. I got the breakfast and dinner (half board) and did not regret it! There was enough food for breakfast that I could pack some for lunch, and the 2 dinners I had were incredible.

Lovely place run by lovely people. We truly enjoyed our stay here. I highly suggest the half board as the food was fantastic as well. It would be hard to stay anywhere else other than here in the future.

It was a little hard to find the place at first in the darkness of night, but found it in the end!
