O' Lattariello

Beautiful view and hospitality of the host

The steps that needed to get there when public lift is not working.

O' Lattariello was one of the most magical hotel stays of my life. You must be physically capable of walking 100+ steps up to the property, but some vacations should be attempted while you are still in good shape. If you can manage the walk up to O' Lattariello, you will be rewarded one of the great vacation experiences of your life (the hosts will arrange in advance to have your luggage brought up and down for you). The views of the Amalfi town, seaside, and mountain valley will be beautiful memories you will cherish forever. The hosts Luciana and Mauricio could not be kinder, friendlier or more gracious, responsive and accommodating. Every morning they treated us to a lovely breakfast with sweet and savory options, coffee and fresh juice, while we sat by the gorgeous trellis with lemon trees and bougainvillea flowers. And Mauricio had many insightful recommendations for visiting the Amalfi Coast and the best local places to eat. Amalfi provides a wonderful home base to explore the Amalfi Coast via bus or ferry. Wine and beverages were available at the hotel for purchase. The bathroom worked well and had good hot water. In the mornings we opened our bedroom window and listened to the sounds of the Amalfi valley, with birds and roosters. We are so grateful we stayed at O' Lattariello - it was the perfect Amalfi getaway of our dreams!

The bed was somewhat stiff, as is typical of the region. But we still got decent sleep each night. (Side tip: I recommend bringing some dramamine along to help with motion sickness from the ferry and boat rides along the coast.)

Nothing was perfect

Mauricio and his family are outstanding hosts. They took exceptional care of us. The room was clean. The view was unbelievable.
