Wanaka's Private Escape

Absolutely delightful unit totally on its own and beautifully appointed

It was all wonderful so nothing to complain about except possibly a couple of hangers on the hooks of the bedroom would be a good idea

John is a wonderful host. He met us at the driveway entrance and gave us very clear instructions by email on how to find the property. We stayed for four nights during the first week of August. The unit is very well designed, with no condensation on the windows. It is warm, dry, and very well insulated. All the essential appliances and kitchenware are provided, including a washing machine. It is super quiet, with an incredibly comfortable bed and high-quality bedding and linens. There is no dryer, but the drying room works just as well. We left our snowboarding gear and clothing there overnight, and everything was dry by morning. The layout is exactly as shown in the photos. It is a private, standalone, self-contained unit, and it stayed warm throughout our stay. Bonus: We took lots of photos of rabbits, quails, and sparrows around the driveway. It's a pleasant walk to the lake and town centre through the golf course (about 12–15 minutes at my slow walking pace). We will definitely stay here again whenever we visit Cardrona or Treble Cone Ski Area.

There is nothing. It is so perfect that, always booked out.

Maybe a heat pump would be better, instead of a floor heater.

It was peaceful and beautiful little corner of wanaka. Lovely listening and watching the birds. The place was very clean and comfortable. John made us very welcome.
