Casa Fontana-Terrazza Panoramica Sorrento

Carmela is a wonderful caring host who made us feel comfortable and cared for from start to finish. She was extremely communicative and was kind enough to bring us some water on arrival which was much appreciated. As soon as we entered the property, we were blown away by both how lovely the interior was, as well as by the incredible view (The pictures do not do it justice). The property was easy to locate, and at the perfect distance from the centre to be convenient to travel between as well as peaceful and out of the way. During our stay we utilised the conveniently placed bus and train station to tick off Pompeii, Vesuvius, and Capo di Sorrento which has one of the most picturesque and beautiful coves anywhere I've ever been. Additionally, we took the ferry to Capri and spent a day exploring and snorkelling there once again blown away by how lovely it was. But no matter where we went, we still were amazed every time we came back to the property by the balcony view, and the comfortable interior. The Wifi and aircon work spectacularly too, which was particularly good on the days which made it up to 30+ degrees. In summary, this place is a hidden gem and worth every penny we paid. There are negligible issues which we found most of which are unavoidable and no issue with the property itself. The doors to the building are slightly baffling to lock and unlock at first but you soon get used to it especially with Carmela's' guidance. The building is obviously placed on a road but being on the higher floor this is barely noticeable and the aircon is louder if you leave it on. As moderately light sleepers we found it had no impact upon us. All in all some very minor drawbacks for what are seriously well worth benefits. Of course a view comes with the inherent cost of a climb but it is very minimal and if you request the private transfer you will be taken care of accordingly.

The view from the terrace is just amazing! And our host Carmela was super nice and kind!When checking-in, she came to pick us up promptly. ​We also had some trouble opening the door, so we called Carmela, and she came back right away to show us how to do it.

The address listed on the app didn't include the street number, which made the place hard to find.

Location is good, Close to main Square,bus & train Station, It is a bit of a trek up hill in general, especially with Luggage when we first arrived, possible get a taxi. Apartment was as advertised, nice size sitting room/Kitchen, bedroom bed was comfy. Balcony is lovely for relaxing on and private.

Only a small thing first, Main Door was tricky to open, felt like wood had expanded on door. The lady whom meet us to show us around the apartment was unable to open it so I had to force it open, small fix. Main thing we did not like or appreciate was when we were leaving the accommodation, as requested by the landlord, I watsapp him to make him aware we had left the Tourist Tax money in cash on the kitchen table as requested by the landlord. To this we received a reply txt stating the showerbox was broken and somewhat implying had we broken it, I questioned what a showerbox was just to clarify what he was implying had been damaged and to clearly state we did not damage anything during our stay. We had no sooner responded stating "No we didn't damage anything while we stayed there" he just responded "OK thank you". Just found it somewhat strange, firstly to sort of imply we had broken the "Showerbox" to then reply "OK thank you" with no explanation or apology, after implying we had broken something. It could easily be a possible misunderstanding or language barrier but without a explanation in his response, we felt accused and hard done by. This being we would 100% not stay again at this rental property. We would not recommend any of our friends or family to stay here as they were questioningly asking us to possibly stay here in the future. In future we will be taking a general recording of our rentals on departure to somewhat cover ourselves in the event of been accused of damage. Other than this interaction with the landlord the apartment was lovely and a perfect location and views.
