Ayres Hotel Vista Carlsbad

Very clean hotel with a very good breakfast, served until 9:30am on weekdays and 10am on the weekends. 24h free unlimited coffee, tea and hot chocolate too.

Overall, the hotel is very nice and new. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very clean, with no unpleasant smells. Housekeeping was excellent — we left for the day, and the room was thoroughly cleaned with fresh towels provided on the next day of our stay. The room was well equipped with plenty of towels, an iron, and a hair dryer. However, there were no slippers or bathrobes provided. We chose this hotel because we were visiting Legoland, and the drive there was only about 15 minutes, which was very convenient. There are nice shopping plazas 7–10 minutes away by car, with grocery stores, cafés, and other amenities. However, there is nothing within walking distance of the hotel, so having a car or using a taxi is necessary. We also had breakfast at the hotel, and it was very good. The selection included omelets, sausages, hash browns, yogurts, waffles, oranges, apples, bananas, and a station where you can order a customized omelet. A nice bonus was that they provide free to-go containers, so you can take food to your room or with you for later. The hotel also has a pool and a jacuzzi, so be sure to bring swimsuits. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to use them since we hadn’t packed ours.

A few areas for improvement: it would be great to add more vegetables, greens, and sliced fruits to the breakfast options, as well as more tea varieties — only black tea was available. Also, the kitchen ventilation was not very good, and our clothes absorbed cooking smells after breakfast. Lastly, having a kettle in the room would be a nice and useful addition.

The staff was incredibly courteous :D ! I don't think I've ever felt so welcomed and extremely happy I had found this hidden treasure :) I wasn't able to stay for breakfast, but freshly made omelets and pancakes sounded like a delight! Begone breakfasts that only offer packaged pastries and hot coffee (if you're lucky). Very spacious room, so you won't be suffering due to lack of space with luggage. You can refill your water bottle at the lobby, so yay! Sustainability! :D Definitely staying here next time I go down to Vista ^_^

I didn't like....that I didn't have more time to spend there, because it would've been lovely :')

How welcoming the staff was

Only thing for me was that there wasn’t enough seating area during the breakfast hours. I saw many people eat standing up or looking uncomfortable because they didn’t have a place to eat.

We like our room. since our first time and we arrived late so they gave us the huge room and very spacious, The staff was very nice. What we also like is parking is free.

I was asking for sunny side up eggs which I thought they have coz they have this counter that you can ask a freshly cook omelette so was expecting to have one.

It was beautiful, nicely tucked away off the main road. The rooms seemed a good size, very sleek and modern. The gym was great with plenty of machines. The breakfast was awesome, great options and the eating area was good size too.

The pool was not very impressive but you can see that from the photos.

Wonderful. The staff was great! Room was perfect. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The bar b drinks are great, along with a great bartender, he's story nice. I will definitely stay here again. Pool and Jacuzzi clean and nice.

Beautiful clean hotel in a good location. Front desk staff was very helpful. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning was quiet.

I liked that is was very open and welcoming. Easy to navigate for being a compact and small building. It felt larger than it looked.

The parking lot was difficult and the signage was a little too small for me.

Our 2nd time there at Ayres hotel. Always a nice stay. The size of the room is a plus.

Everything about the hotel we experienced was great. Comfortable beds, clean room, excellent staff! The store in the lobby was nice too in case you forgot anything.

For $250 for 1 night, I expected a little more amenities. The omelet line for breakfast was too long and we didn't get any omelets. The location was fairly far from the beaches but not horrible given how the traffic was. Overall it was a great stay though!

The main areas of the hotel were clean on the inside and it felt well attended to. The breakfast was good, I was pleased to encounter an omelet station. There is free parking which is a plus and evening pizza lounge is a fun addition.

The staff at the front desk seemed irritated to be there and were overall not that friendly. The room we were assigned was an ADA room which was not requested nor were we notified it was such upon check in while not terrible, it came with an awkward shower for myself who is on the taller side. The room also came with some odd smells one was the room itself smelling like a mix of salami and cheese as well as the water having a foul odor when running.
