Villa Elvise - YourPlace Abruzzo

Posizione incantevole sulla collina con vista dell’intero golfo sia dalla casa che dal giardino. Possibilità di rinfrescarsi in piscina anche quando il mare è mosso oppure si prende una giornata di relax. La casa su due piani è ristrutturata con le più recenti tecnologie ed è dotata di bellissime vetrate con zanzariere verso il lato mare.

The house is spacious and has just been renovated (inside it does not look anymore as the current pictures) so everything was new, including the 3 bathrooms. There were electronic shutters and mosquito nets in almost all the windows. The view from the terraces and the bedrooms was fantastic. The kitchen had a nice big fridge and new dishwasher.

The house had been advertised as a private villa with "private and exclusive use" of the pool but on arrival we found out the pool was shared with the owners who live in another villa literally a few meters away. Whilst this might not be a problem for many, it was not what it was advertised and the villa lacked the privacy we were expecting and we thought we had paid for. No compensation was offered when we raised this. While we were there, the other villa was being renovated so we had tradesmen coming and going on the second week we were there. The house is not ideal for young children or people with mobility issues (as in our case) as the garden area is terraced and there are stairs everywhere although there is a fourth smaller ground floor room that can be used as bedroom (this was kindly accomodated for us). The place is mostly quiet although a bar on the seaside had loud music until late but it did not bother us as we could sleep with the windows closed and the a/c on. The nearest beach (pebbles not sand like in most places on the coast) can be reached on foot in 10 minutes or so but the house is on a hill so it is quite steep both going down and coming up so a car is reccommended and is also needed to reach the nearest place for food shopping. Wifi was not reliable. Matresses where not very comfortable but ok. Not a big deal and important mainly for non Italian customers but the kitchen lacked microwave, toaster and kettle.
