A lovely little place to relax and enjoy the area. Perfect for a couple.

Very peaceful location on the Loch but only a short drive to stores and conveniences. A full kitchen, which was a welcome change from the other minimalist accommodations we stayed on this trip. We could not get regular channels on the TV but there are lots of books and board games. Host lives on same site but separate area and we felt completely private.

Sofas are quite low; ok for me but not comfortable for my elderly husband to get in and out. No bath mat for when we stepped out of the shower.

Excellent stylish property

This is a fantastic property that has been furnished to a high standard. There is covered area which allows you to be under cover if it rains. It is very private and you have the whole of the old bowling green to yourself. Highly recommended.

Restful break in the Herons Nest

The Herons Nest is a lovely self contained appartment with a well designed living room, large double bedroom (with a very comfortable double bed), en-suite bathroom and well stocked kitchen. There is also an adjacent outdoor seating area with a barbecue provided and access to the riverside area next to the main property with additional seating and picnic tables etc. Drumnadrochit town centre is a short drive away with places to eat and shop (lots of gift shops), a Co-op and a petrol station. John the host was very friendly, informative about the local area and easy to talk to. We couldn't really have asked for more.

Great place for a quiet getaway. Lovely little touches.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. Catherine was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. The cottage had everything we needed to cook a couple of simple meals. There were also little touches like breakfast spreads and chocolate biscuits. It’s a great location.

The property was perfect for our overnight stay. The room was comfortable, as was the bed and we had magical views. Breakfast was delicious.

Amazing, beautiful location. Perfect for our trip.

Fabulous location, little home from home. Clean, had lots of consumables which was a lovely touch. My daughter loved the swing set at the bottom of the garden and the beautiful river and hillside view.

Only feedback that I could give is that I booked for two adults and one 9 year old. After reading carefully I saw there was one bed and only a cot bed for children. This is not practical for a child over the age of approx 2-3. I messaged and Catherine was very accommodating and provided bedding for the sofa, so all was fine but worth bearing in mind if booking with a child. My daughter was very comfortable though!

Very friendly owners.. We really liked & enjoyed Herons Rest Comfortable & cosy.. Quiet in well kept lovely surroundings.. Would definitely go back again.. Basic items for use including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash, hair dryer.. In Kitchen Tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper.. All a bonus incase you have forgotten any of them....

Not a didn't like.. More an observation.. Other places we have stayed have left a welcome gift which is a nice touch.. Eg.. Milk & Bread, Wine & Cookies which is helpfully if anyone arrives later on at night.. For us there wasn't anything we could say we didn't like...

Amazing cozy and quiet stay

Amazing cozy and quiet place, fully equipped with quality stuff and furniture! This was our best accommodation throughout Scotland by far and although it is a bit further away from town, it is super quiet and has a dedicated river bank in return.

The cottage was lovely, very modern design, clean, had all things you could need for your stay( Towels, kitchen , iron, and good storage in bedroom.

we very much liked the space outside for drying walking boots and jackets so dont have to take inside till dry and the wood burner was icing on the cake, after a nice day walking in forest, coming back and lighting the fire it made it warm and cosy to relax.

said it was in drumnadrochit but was a good mile out of the village and on a very busy road. Noise from road and couldn’t view where the property was until booked. Was sold as including a river walk but could only walk to the river but not along it for any distance.
